I'm quite sure we won't see that referee again in the next world cup...

speaking of shitty refs.

i think soccer should highly consider using instant replay.

in america nfl, nhl, nba, and even baseball use instant replay.

just one wrong call can end a team's season in a blink of an eye

Check out posts #336 and #340 in this thread on the same topic... Maybe they could have  two video challenges per team per match that can be requested by the skipper or the coach of the team? Not sure which decision was worse last nite - England's non goal or the offside by a country mile goal of the Argentinians. Not much protest from the English team though...

Two consecutive errors from two different referees in two matches!
Adding the disallowed goal from USA and the hand ball score from Brazil, there are already FOUR crucial errors from referee in this WC.

FIFA should adopt technology to assist the referees in critical judgement.

I agree, they should copy Cricket's referral system. If the ref makes a call, the captain of the team for which the call is made against can refer it to the 3rd umpire, atleast 2 times in a game. The downside would be delays but imagine the excitement at looking at the big screen waiting for a call... Please make me president of FIFA

i doubt it

sports are fixed and if you don't believe i can give examples

black sox fixing the series
patriots taping the opposing teams practices
gretzky involved in hocky gambling
the ref who made calls against the kings in the laker series

these are just high profile cases, and i'm sure there re many more

there is a level of fixing in big or little degrees

superbowl, world series, nba finals, hockey

i mean it kills me how a lot of these series are going to game 7's

more games more money more ratings

a game with little interest could probably be fixed for like 100 hkd

everyone is on the take, the league, the players, the refs

with billions of dollars being exchanged i'm sure some of it goes to bribery

there was a report on the bbc last week

that the russian federation was trying to bribe fifa officials and REFS

to bring and to help win the world cup in russia for 2018

i don't think the bbc would lie on this report or their credibility would be shot

there have been thousands of stories of sports fixing in pro sports i doubt fifa is immune to this

i agree with your replay system

however where there is so much money and power involved ppl do become corrupt

do i have evidence no i don't, does sports fixing go on YES

like on the x-files, the truth is out there, question will it come out

when one obtains power he himself will become corrupt

Without using technology, the game is definetely easier to be fixed &  FIFA officials are clearly happy to let it happens. They are really suck    .... they even let Indonesian football association led by a convicted criminal .....  what a joke

Don't we all.
As great as a trip to Korea would be, my wife has me on a very tight leash.   Don't think she trusts me much.  Not sure why!? The closest I get to freedom is my once-a-month trip to Macau with the lads.

Biggest disappointment? Have to be England with all the pre-WC hype. If they had topped their group which they should have, they would have avoided Germany although I think they might have lost to Ghana anyway. So maybe losing to Germany wasnt such a bad thing in the end cos losing to Ghana would be worst.

Forget my links if Asia-Play's link www.iraqgoals.tv is working. Watching the Brazil game right now and the stream hasn't broken up once. ( Plus the commentary is in English!)

http://tvbunch.com/16/Live-Streams/worldcup2010
http://atdhe.net/index.html

These are the sites I've been using. They have 5 or 6 streams just in case one goes down. Not sure what your native tongue is, but sometimes I have no choice but to watch the Spanish, German, French streams when the English ones go down
