Teacher bound over for solicititing
A teacher was put on a good-behavior bond yesterday for soliciting a woman for sex for HK$200.  Yau Chak-ki, 42, was bound over in Kowloon Court after he admitted that on June 10 he solicitated a woman for sex in Temple Street, Yau Ma Tei.  The woman was in fact a police agent in an anti-vice operation.  The prosecution withdrew a count of soliciting for immoral purposes against Yau following his admission.

It seems though 141s are legal, soliciting a woman on the street is illegal.  So guys be careful when you are trawling around Temple Street for the freelancers as you may catch the eye of undercover police agent instead.  I would recommend sticking with the HGs, 141s, and sauna girls whereby it is the girls who are soliciting you.  

This is interesting - but surely if the woman makes the approach to you, she is soliciting you and not vice-versa. Is that right? So if you are up there, and a girl winks at you and you say hello, surely aslong as you dont mention money or sex, you would be ok.... until the cops give you a beating and throw you in knick that is

any chance of a pic of the cop dressed as a WG? sounds hot!

Seems like they're definitely trying to raise awareness of this kindof 'crime' and make an example of someone if you ask me. Lucky for the police they nabbed a teacher-makes for a better story for them.

I was in Temple Street recently when a potential MMS asked if I need a women.  I just kept walking because she was pretty homely looking but if I replied - would that be considered entrapment?  Does that even matter in HK?

$10000 is pretty steep regarless of currency...

If she asks you, she's the one doing the soliciting.  Police aren't allowed to do that, they have to look provocative and wait for you to ask.

Can you imagine you spot a hottie on Temple Street and you are afraid of being caught in a sting, so you give her a stare... then unknown to you she is actually an undercover cop and she has to get you to ask first, so she stares back...it then becomes a farce-like situation where the hottie (cop) and you are engaged in a staring showdown to see who would speak first.  

To all the local and tourist bystanders milling about, you two look like two mute wackos staring at each other.  Just another exotic sight on the streets of HK for the tourists.  

Just make sure you have a phone with voice recording ... and remember to turn it on before you make
the contact ... at least you will have some protection when faced with your word or their's !!!

BTW I did read somewhere in an earlier thread that there's a code.  Will share it here, but with a strong disclaimer that I haven't tried it and have no intention of trying it either ...

Apparently, to avoid the risk of a soliciting charge, you can ask the price by pointing your fingers to the ground, 1 finger = $100 ... and she will respond.  After agreement you then follow her to her place.  

IMHO still risky, but I'm curious if it's still being used.

I have a question...  I'm not really into street pickups, so this may be just stupid.  

Suppose you see a hot chick...  And instead of saying, "How much?" you just ask her if you can go somewhere and buy her a drink.  I have to believe that just about any streetwalker would try to convert that opener into a sale.  Assuming that she poses the proposition from there, who has solicited?  Her or you?
