THE BEST T_BONE STEAK IN HONG KONG.......

Alright bros RICO here with need of a little more guidence......

When RICO touches down in Hong Kong...He will be taking bro Thai out to an all expenses paid lunch.....

RICO really does love T-bone steaks...( Well i've decided what we are going to have Thai..) I have searched the web and have come up empty handed....

Do any of the bros have any recommendations....RICO wants an " A' LA' CARTE" menu not buffet.....

Bro Goose...Bro Twice and Bro Asia-play......" IT WOULD BE RICO'S PLEASURE".....

Hey I really want to meet up with you again RICO. I'm taking you to HGs ...no walk-ups please and I want at least 1 HG photo from you.

I like Mortons in the Sheraton, but man the steaks there are expensive. I only went there on a business dinner a year ago.

Ruth Chris aint bad either. but about the same price as Morton's, which in bro Goose' terms, is expensive.

if you're going to pay for lunch, why not take them to Harlan's, i think 2/F of IFC Mall. they should have good steak plus oysters and other stuff for a diverse palate.

my fave steak restaurant in HK is Jimmy's Kitchen. 2 locations, Ashley Rd TST and Windham Rd Central. I have not had a T-Bone there but the Fillet Steaks are SEN-FREAKING-SATIONAL (2" thick) and the wine list tip top with some excellently priced Australian Reds. I dont like crab but they also have a crab and avocado entree that everyone raves about.

Try Louis Steak House in Wanchai ... its listed in the CNN's tiop 40 in this section
its not expensive but they serve decent steaks !
Now of course if you want to take TD to the best of the best, then go for the upmarket ones like Mortons

So now it comes out - Rico is a 'bone and meat' man.  Little wonder he wants to get his bone into fresh meat so often

All the bros here have mentioned the best places to have a T-bone in Hong Kong but Rico, if you should go over to Macau during your trip (sorry if this is kinda off topic), go to The Kitchen at the Grand Lisboa. I'm a steak man myself and the steaks at The Kitchen are the best steaks I've ever had in Asia. They have US, Australian Wagyu beef and different grades of Kagoshima, even Grade X Kagoshima beef which is higher grade than anything you can get in HK. The Kagoshima T-bone may cost HK$2,500 a piece but this is cheap as cost for that piece of meat itself is about HK$2,000 or more. They hardly make any profit on this because the food is subsidized by the gaming operations. In HK, if a steak like this is served, the restaurant would charge at least $5,000+ and that's why they don't offer this to customers in HK. It would never sell. What I would suggest is the Steak Florentine which is one giant piece of grilled T-bone for two and they're not stingy on the beef. They actually serve you the Australian Wagyu with a high marble rating of 9+ (Australian Grade 9 includes meat that would grade up to 12 in Japan). This is the best deal in the house at HK$1,200 for two people.

The wine list is the best in the world at the Lisboa with a cellar valued at nearly HK$4 billion. The list consists of 320 pages and the DRC wines alone of different vintages take up 6 pages! They even have Romaee Conti dating back to the late 1800s. Great selection of Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone, Spanish, California, Australian and everything else imaginable and it's all relatively cheap. Been to over a dozen 3-star Michelin restaurants in Europe and nothing comes close to this wine list. What's more amazing is that whatever obscure bottle you order from the list, they can get it to you in 5 minutes. This is a very well organized cellar despite its size. If you're a wine connoisseur, it's worth going just to peruse this list.

Enjoy

The steakhouse at the intercontinental hotel is one of the best I have ever come across. They age all the meat themselves.

If you are referring to the Steakhouse, this has gone downhill in recent years. In fact, their signature restaurant, Spoon by Alan Ducasse is a total disappointment as well.

That's a shame, they were one of the best. I agree Ducasse is very poor for the price and reputation. Service was good but food average.

It'll be good to catch up with you, but aren't the other mods T-bone worthy?

Twice: You are invited too, don't forget. Yes, Morton's sounds nice.  My love doesn't come cheap.

my HK steakhouse ranking:

1. Steakhouse at the Intercontinental (very expensive)
2. Ruth's Chris (also quite expensive)
3. Morton's at the Sheraton (similarly priced as Ruth's Chris)
4. Tied for 4th place: BLT Steak at Harbor City in TST (not as good as the above 3, but still, the steak is pretty good and it's much more reasonably priced. service can be inconsistent); Jimmy's Kitchen (they don't specialize in steaks but they're still good)

don't bother with Craft Steak in Soho. I had a terrible meal there.

Ruth is the most expensive followed by Mortons ... Steakhouse might be somewhere in between
Jimmy's always serves consistant quality food, decent but not great ...

really? I seem to remember Steakhouse being the most expensive. haven't been there for a while so I might be wrong. Steakhouse really is the best IMO. I love how they give u a whole set of knives to choose from and like 12 different kinds of salt.

I have to agree with geoduck, just been there recently it's no longer as good as before. For some reason the service has also gone down a little, but it may just be that day. Has anyone tried out the restaurant in the Eiffel tower? It's by Alan Ducasse too
