Had a customer in town on Tuesday night, took him to Bottoms up. Had a few drinks and games of pool.

2 new girls in there. One was quite attractive and spoke good English, the other I have no idea as she sat on her phone. We drank with 3 girls, new girl, I think her name was Joey. Jojo (miss her obe? ) and another whose name was Kylie, who has been around for a while, good to look at but annoying as fuck.

We got the bill and shockingly it was about right.

Then we went on to Legends bar, played pool with 2 girls in here for a while, Sarah who is stunning! and another one who has been there a while, no idea what her name is but my friend was happy enough. We drank for maybe 2/3 hours here putting on our own music and playing pool, only 2 other guys there.

Our total bill was 1K, not bad for 4 people.

I remember when she had her own bar in the original bar street in 2009.
It was 2am she locked the bar up and we proceeded to have sex in the bar.

It was one of the bars which looked over the soccer fields.

Apparently opened again today. Fire safety issues. As everywhere else.

China is funny. The business next door can use an arc welder all day on the public sidewalk with no safety measures whatsoever. But the bar smoke detector battery is dead, and they shut them down for 1 week. If they don't like the prostitution in the bars, why don't they just shut them down? It would be so easy, and legal.

at a guess I would say due to kickbacks?

I was talking to a friend the other day who works part-time doing sales for an education centre. She was telling me one day a few months ago the "fire safety" police walked into the centre and immediately told them the building was unsafe and demanded 40K.

Little did they realise they had met their match she went to their office and argued for about 2 hours with them, they kept changing their story, all just BS excuses:

The stairs are not wide enough
The stairs are made from poor materials and would collapse under pressure or heat

Sometimes living here really just gets to me.

Sad news in indeed. Nothing will ever be the same in Shekou and landlords looking to cash in quick money. Soon Sea World is all that is left. Ohhh, how exciting.....

If there is demand there will be supply.
Maybe the bars will relocate to somewhere else but I'm sure they will not disappear totally.

I think the fun days of Shekou are coming to an end soon. More raids this week. Massage girls taken away in handcuffs. Police enforcing mandatory drug testing of all girls at the bars. Bars and other businesses being shut down for petty reasons. Mandatory 2am closing time. They've decided to squeeze them all out I think.

Well, this is indeed bad news for the girls on Haiqiangjie....

Police are serious. Massage shops have mostly been shut down. Permanently. and some girls jailed. I was told that the police literally "caught some girls in active happy ending mode". I guess they knew when to look.

Bars are open, but new rules will be strictly enforced. Violations will result in permanent closing of the bar, no appeal. I saw the Chinese rules, and translated as best I can.

Must close at 2am. No more of fake close by turning off the light and closing curtain. 2am - 5am is peak revenue for these bars!
Curtains must be removed from the front doors.
Sofas and beds must be removed. (Why does a bar have a bed? )
Must be well lit. No more dimming lights
No grabbing or calling of guys off the streets.
No sexy clothes. Must wear normal clothes as day time
Must maintain security video for 2 weeks, and police can check anytime they want.

Additionally, all the bar landlords were called into the police meeting and told that they have personal responsibility for violations.

Also, there will be no more loud parties allowed. So that pretty well spells the end for Fubar since the big parties were the only time they made a profit. From what I have seen, almost all the larger landmark bars are closing due to lack of business.

I haven't heard about Sakura massage, as I never been there. Maybe someone else has heard something.

To be fair I don't think anyone wants to see those girls in sexy clothes

I heard Sakula is having trouble and girls are now not taking off their shirts, or only taking it off for a few minutes..

Rose Garden 2 - Brew Magic has Closed. Volfoni is moving or closing. This is due to crazy high rents and the fact that China Merchants has too much power here, they put pressure on local governments to do away with the outside seating areas, which killed Volfoni, Snake Put (move to sea world) and Les 5 lost a lof of business due to this.

I heard the bars must only do this for 2/3 weeks during examinations...? but you never know here!

Not sure how that works yet. Maybe a quick HJ in the toilet?

Curtains are off, and I don't mean figuratively...

Police has ordered the curtains to be removed from bars, so now it's all out in the public now...
Tinted windows seem to be ok.
I'm told this is to engourage the 2AM rule.

I have been to a bar or two where they close the curtains also to help you forget that it REALLY EARLY in the morning and just keep drinking...

So I'm thinking this will not go away anytime soon.

Volfoni will reopen at Rose 2 end of month or early next month.

Thursday night, police came through and forcibly closed all bars and sent everyone home at 1:55am. I was there to see it, and they were not messing around.
