I saw this report about a guy beating his wife in TKO and was shocked no one except a security guard tried to intervene. Everyone just stood around!!

"In the bicycle lane in Cheung Kwun O, a man seized the hair of a woman, threw her against the wall and kneed her stomach.  Then he shoved her on the ground and assaulted her.  She begged for mercy but he did not relent.  Spectators yelled at him.  A security guard interceded, and was cursed and kicked.  The whole scene was recorded and uploaded on YouTube under the title <Trashiest Man Of The Century, He Keeps A Mistress And Beats His Wife In Public>.  This video was seen by more than 10,000 person within one day.

According to the police, a 39-year-old man named Chiu assaulted his 37-year-old wife named Wu in Cheung Kwuon O at around 2pm on October 1.  A 39-year-old housing estate security guard named Ng interceded but was wounded by Chiu.  The couple left the scene.  Ng called the police who intercepted Chiu nearby.  Chiu resisted arrested and attacked the police officers.  Chiu was subdued and arrested on suspicion of fighting in public, physical assault and attacking police officers.  Ng, Li and a police officer were received treatment at a hospital."

I've noticed as soon as something happens on the street you see dickheads whip out there camera's or phones and start recording. They don't really give a crap about the person/incident and just continue filming away. Its so sad that we see fewer and fewer good samaritans these days, being replaced by chicken shit nosy reporter wannabe's.

they have this thing in psychology they talk about where people in need in front of a group often does not get any help.  someone is always thinking someone else is going to help and then ends up no one is helping

Yes the security guard is really useless! He kinda had the wing chun pose when he was 'attacked' by the guy and suffered a few light kicks. If our building security guards were that useless, we'd be in deep shit.

These events are common in HKG. Everyone just wants to mind their own business. You see this in all daily lives; in the MTR, malls..etc..people are too self-centered. On so many occasions, I rushed forward to open the door in the malls for parents with strollers, elders in wheel chairs....I got really disgusted when you see HKers racing to take that window of opportunity and squeezing through the doors. Never ocures to them that there are people in need of help.

Yeah. I will take that sh*t hole on if I were there...one on one should not be an issue unless he is armed.
