singapore is not known for their gambling scene, so it will take awhile before you get some good action going.

I visited there back in January.  Gambling wise, much quieter than Macau / Vegas. Good, clean and modern, but the feel is a bit sterile.  No WGs wandering the corridors either, which is a shame.

No WGs walking around : probaly because of the entry restrictions of the casinos.  If the wg is a local or hold a Singaporean PR/passport, she has to pay SIN100 to enter on that day.   Entrance is free for foreigners, but knowing how the SG govt works, they probaly keep track of all the entries/exits of all the visitors.  Eventually the foreign wg may get banned because she is not gambling or spending money.  Anyway why bother as the wgs know all that all punters know where to go for freelancers : Orchard Tower or Geylang, plus some hotel bars.

they do have card games, slots, roulettes and other games. Quitewell furbished interior and most of the card dealers are filipino and singaporeans.. i have to say that they are a bit in-experienced as they will start to panic if there are lots of people placing bets. i went there in february when it just started and i did not have to pay the entrance fee as i'm a foreigner.. the bets are SGD50 for blackjacks but I heard from a friend that they had raised it to $100

Is that SGD 50 and 100?

The minimum bet is 70 odd USD?  That's the highest I've ever seen for a common gaming floor.

I was thinking about going to Singapore to check out the new Las Vegas Sands casino there opening up in april. If it's anywhere close to Macau standards then it's worth the price of hte plane ticket to see it but reading some of the reviews here, doesnt' seem to be very exciting place. Maybe they should think about lowering the minimum wager to an appropriate level instead of $100 bucks to draw in more patrons.

It all sounds like the Nanny state trying to scare away locals from becoming a addict and problem to society.  I mean come on $100 SGD to get in the door if you a local or PR  is just madness.

As for the min bet levels I can't believe that the Government would have anything to do with that, maybe its the casinos them self trying to get every drop they can or of the fools who go there.

Yeah the minimum bet levels for black jack seem way too high. Can anyone else confirm that minimum bets are SGD50 or SGD100?

SIN100 is quite a sum,so basically they discourage the local from entering the casino

the atmosphere of the casino is important,I prefer more people, more fun

Singapore is still too conservative towards gambling for the casino to be any fun... go to Genting Highlands in Malaysia for a better time...
