I was out yesterday watching the England - All Blacks rugby match yesterday at The Dog House.
Anyone else there?  The match result was rubbish... but what was worse was the stinking internet feed that was used to screen the rubgy.

The pub seemed to have used an online feed which kept stuttering and stalling instead of getting a Setanta feed or something decent.
Shocking...

Anyway as I looked around, I noticed aside from loads of guys around... the close proximity to the GD Hotel, and then saw a few guys with some girl... I kept thinking... maybe this is full of a load of 141 guys....  I suspect I spotted a few cos got a few odd looks but maybe not....

1) Anyway anyone know somewhere good to see the matches in future.... Tried Delaneys and Joe Bananas and they weren't showing the England match.
2) Is this pub a typical warm up spot for punters?   I guess same prob true of many of the WC bars!

White Stag Pub. Rugby, cricket, golf. Located on Lockhart near the corner of Lockhart and Fenwick (a few doors down). Cool bar, good beers on tap, tasty greasy pub food. Excellent "chips". Good atmosphere.

Check out the Bar guide sticky in CHAT section. At the bottom of post #1 is a link for a map. This will help you find the White Stag. You will also find a map and details for mongering bars in the immediate area... you'll be surrounded by them!

Are you referring to doghouse on lockhart rd (wanchai)? (okay pub) And if you are referring to GD Hotel that is used by james bond, it is in TST.  Different sides of the harbour.

Yeah on Lockhart Rd... the W G D Hotel... I'm sure I've had a punt in there... bright big foyer!

yes, the GD Hotel on Lockhart (approx opposite the White Stag) is the GD Wharney Hotel. Formally just called the Wharney. Small rooms, but close to punting action. Close to punting action has pros and cons though. post#5 in the Bar guide sticky discusses these Pros and Cons.

The White Stag in just a few doors up from The Dog House. IMO the White Stag is a nice pub with a few tv's and a big screen. I either go their or 'Amici' bar which is over the road on the first floor.

There are two problems with the Amici bar though:

1) It is a Liverpool supporters bar
2) They also mostly stream the sports off the internet

The White Stag does not stream anything.

I was way too drunk to watch the match but I heard not a lot of places were showing this particular match because it was only being aired by a South African network and most establishments don't have this in HK. Only way to get it was internet streaming which is rubbish...
