Connoisseurs of the finer things in life [and possibly any lady readers], When I first log-in I usually begin reviewing the titles of the posts to see what looks like it will be interesting reading.  In less than 2 pages of titles in one of the categories I found this today: JG  37D  K K  JJ  KT  TST  CWB  SKM  PHX  [and more]. I recognize the advantage of abbreviations for commonly used phrases, but it can get excessive.    Yes I have read the FAQ for newbies, and I did download the list of terms and acronyms. This is not a complaint, just an observation that more information can be conveyed by just spelling out the words occasionally.  At least it would provide some help to the newbies. #3 Post at 10-1-2011 12:33  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Usually if the abbreviations are not defined.  I try to read between the lines to figure out what it could possibly mean.  I do a search and read a couple of threads that use the word.  It's sort of like taking a reading comprehension test.  You might not know every word, but you can infer what is trying to be said by the words around it.

Abbreviations like DATY are already found all over the internet. Whereas abbreviations that are about locations in HK such as SKM, PHX, KT... these are more HK specific and were probably started on these 141 forums so its understandable if newbies do not understand when they first see.
