Has anyone been there lately? Heard business went south after the oil boys left town.  Any updates on some of these locations? i.e. which ones have been closed? or new ones opened?

Shekou is pretty much in its death throws, quality is way down. Spent a week there in January and punted once with a girl off wechat and even that was below par.
If your planning on making a special trip for the girls dont bother

I would recommend people not to bother with Shekou for punting  anymore. It has been declining in quality and quantity for the last five years or so.

If you do visit I would suggest Purple Charm or Legends bar for the best looking girls. Be warned both these bars can get expensive.

If you are in the region just go to Wan Chai for quality, quantity and variety.

My triumphant return may be a maid parade in two weeks time. Although my last two maid parades were very disappointing and I didn't punt. Let's see!

I had a really good time at the Shekou bar scene when I was in Shenzhen this past April and I posted a few reports in this discussion group. I thought that the scene was pretty good actually and I had a great time. I will be back in Shenzhen next week, and I have plans to try out the Shekou bar scene again.Of course, I plan to post my experiences.

Who am I to disagree with Obe but in this case I think I have to make a comment.  The Wan Chai bar scene may provide quantity and variety, but it is very expensive and more to the point, it is too commercial for my tastes. Most of the girls are mechanical and will try to give the least amount of fun for the most amount of money. I do have some good experiences in Wan Chai, but they are few and far between. And the reason is, the bar and party girls know how to maximize the money they get from the tourists or occasional business travellers.

In HK, I much prefer to go to the areas such as Prince Edward or Mong Kok as there is decent enough variety, with far fewer tourists. Thus the prices are more reasonable and the level of "fun" is higher.  But back to Shekou:  I like the bar scene there, slim as it may be relative to a few years ago. You can have fun in the Shekou bars, and even though it may be pricey, it is hard to break the bank there. In Wan Chai, the bar scene can make you miss a mortgage payment on your house!

I totally agree with this comment! Wan Chai has messed with my finances over the years...


Trust me in Shekou the girls and bar owners don't give a shit about repeat cliental.
They will still pad your bill at every opportunity.

Only a problem if you enter the bar looking like a tourist with a big "sucker" sign attached to your forehead and are too hurried to shop around.  The prices can be steep if you don't negotiate (e.g. I negotiated a MMF down from $2000 to $700 for a short-term session with a smoking hot Indo who was celebrating her birthday at JForest).  If I remember correctly, the most I have paid is $1200 for a few hours at a love hotel with two average looking Indos from 109.  Lots of bargains to be made there if you know what you are doing, and supply exceeds demand.  Just like there are lots of bargains to be made if you go to China, though I wouldn't know as I made the newbie mistake of spending a lot of cash behind some curtain getting a tug from two hags.   Same rules apply.

It's not so much the girls fee for services which is expensive in Wan Chai but more the girl drinks, friends drinks and your own drinks.
It can add up quite quickly if you don't keep a check on it. Go to Escape and see how quickly you can burn USD100.

The session with the aunty/granny massage lady was exciting since the fooling around was unexpected. I enjoyed myself at that bar with the pool table and flirting with the cute girls (Sunflower??), but less so the curtain punt as I was constantly buying drinks which was annoying. Hanging out with Petay in his territory was loads of fun. Great drinking buddy. Memorable evening. I would go back there just for that.

I still go to Shekou from times to times (Zombie), I don't report it anymore as I had some issues with someone in this forum showing the girls at the bar the different posts about this bar.

Haven't tried any other bar in Shekou, not sure if I Have the motivation to check them out... unless obe gets out of retirement and wants to show me around other places

The Chicken Street is easy enough...just walk along it but the areas little further must have seen some changes?

All the people saying the quality has gone down are correct.  The irony is that the same girls are still there, so the quality refers to the fact that they are getting older, and wiser at partting you with your cash.  Actually they are getting desparate and ruthless, which makes it worse.
