I was told about this by a swinger couple who only do bareback. Aside from being in the typical PrEP to prevent HIV infections, they decided to go forth with this to stay safer.
The internet just describes this medication in the context as Doxycline being an antibiotic meant to prevent possible infections of syphilis & chlamydia.

Some websites from certain health related organizations mention DoxyPrEP, but Im unsure if thats a thing as most of the info I found only mentions taking it Post possible exposure.

Since Im no physician I would just follow what the experts say. The recommended by the CDC & NHS is to ask a I.Disease specialist, as they might be more educated about its usage (side effects, etc), but asking a Primary Care Provider for/about it won't hurt either.
Now, here is the possible minor negative to it that I found online; according to research (  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10776032  ), Doxycycline could develop up to 25% towards Gonorrhea, so I again would consult with a physician about it if interested.

Guidelines say it's only been show to be effective in certain populations but also mentions doctors can use it in other groups.

It’s a positive step forward but, from my understanding, there is are a lot of questions over effectiveness so there is no 100% guarantee. I am no clinical expert on this but I wouldn’t be relying on it exclusively, especially considering the growing problem of antibiotic resistant strains of various std’s. certainly a topic worth exploring though as anything that reduces the risk of catching something nasty is always worth knowing about.

I agree with the OP though, if you’re interested it might be worth talking to a dr about it.
