Transportation from Airport to Hotel

Hi Bros,

I will be visiting HK for the first time soon.  What is the most efficient way to get to the Novotel Century from the Airport. Do I take the train or taxi? Any information would be great. Also prices on each would be great as well. Thanks as always!

The train is the easiest, and fastest Mav.  Cheap too, like $100HKD I think.  Take it all the way to Central and then switch to the subway or hop a cab from there.  On your way back, you can also check in for your flight at the MTR station before you get on the train.

I used to cab it in from the airport but after the first time I took the MTR I kicked myself for waiting so long

Just in case you get confused by the station names, by Central, TheButler means Hong Kong Station.

And from the Hong Kong station, there is a frequent and free shuttle bus to the major Hong Kong Island hotels - including the Novotel.

If you have a bit more time and want to save money, you can also hop on the A11 bus at the Airport for HK$40 which will drop you off in front of the Novotel. It should only take you an extra 15 or so minutes going this way - depending on the time of day/traffic conditions.

all good advice, another issue worth noting is that when returning to the airport, you can check in at the Airport Express Stations in Hong Kong (Central) and Kowloon.

That means you can literally check in your bags, get your boarding pass etc and be relatively "light" to go out and have some more fun. You can do this at any time on the day of the flight. Sometimes I have had a near midnight flight and checked in this way around noon, then gone back to have lunch in TST etc.

Worth noting that you won't see the bags you check in again until arriving at your destination, you are literally checking your bags in the same way you would at the airport.
