HK budget 2009/10

Anybody have a decent comprehensive link as to what is happening in HK 2009/10 ? , the TVB news wasn't very clear and just spoke at length about a guy who walked in and threw an inflatable banana at the chancellor of HK, or at least who I thought was the chancellor of HK.

All I heard was a 700million USD budget deficit which I suppose is small change (as the UK is facing a 201bn£ (or 350bn USD budget deficit).

Any takers? , any extra money to go pooning with?.

Have a look at the HK budget website which has a summary http://www.budget.gov.HK

Click on the highlights page when you enter the English page. Nothing really special as the government wants to save it's reserves for future benefits...

I don;t understand man....maybe a joke. Why the hell 6K kickback in tax as compared to last year 25K, whereas weighting the economy performance, we are worse off this year.
2 ways of looking at this:
1) hooray!! We got rebate again his year. Better than nothing
2) WTF!!!!......19K lower than last year!!!

I am still reviewing the rest of the budget proposals/implementation.....we discuss that later.

The budget was aimed at the lower class (or the grass roots which the government likes to call it) since they require the most financial help. For the middle and upper class, doesn't really help as it's just really small change.

The budget will hit smokers since there is a jump in tax levy!!!

The 6K is for the next tax bill...
