She goes by the name of JaneOpenMind @janeopenmind on Thai Friendly and TikTok, she has 9 accounts with the name Somprathana Hawkins on Facebook, and several Line accounts.
I will not go into details to avoid embarrassing myself more than I am, but she is a professional deceiver.

While we appreciate the warning, a bit more information is needed. Not appropriate to condemn and accuse as deceiver without some explanation. Without explanation, we don't know if this is someone to avoid for good reason, or simply someone you have a personal vedette against.

I am not saying to avoid. Just to be extra cautious. She is not a FL looking for customers; she presents herself as very wealthy and generous, and not looking for a compromised relationship. The ideal FWB that we are all looking for. After a while she borrows a lot of money from you for a good cause and promises to return it on the next day. The next day she tells you a story that you are going to receive much more than double the money on your bank account, not from her but from Singapore (says she cannot use her bank account because the Thai Tax Office is monitoring it and blah blah blah), and you shall withdraw her part to return it to her (and even keep some extra for you). That is the typical 3-way scam where they sell an online product, they do not deliver it, and they use your bank account to get the money. When the buyer reports it to the police, they will trace it down to your bank account and investigate you. Of course, I refused to get paid by that way, and after a bunch of unbelievable stories (even asking for more money) she ghosts me. Radio silence for more than one month.

What hurts me more than my stupidity or the financial loss (I am talking about 6-digit THB) is that I could have used that money for charity. To help people who is really in need, instead of a swindler that loves shopping at EmQuartier.

To put things in perspective, at the beginning of this year I met a lady on ThaiFriendly. I went to her apartment in a slum soi near Victory Monument. I was shocked when I saw her mini room illegally constructed at the space under the apartment stairs. A thin wooden wall with a fragile door, a big electric panel inside the space, a thin mattress on the floor, no air-con, can only stand up at one corner of the room because of the triangle-shaped ceiling under the stairs, no water or facilities, she has to use a communitarian toilet downstairs... A miserable corner. The landlord should be reported. But then, where could she find a place as economic as that?

I gave her space to talk about herself. She is nice and kind. She lost her job during covid. She showed me the pics of her student daughter that is living with an aunt, and said she is doing everything for her. Given the room conditions, I guess that she may not have returning customers. Like me. I survived that time because it was on January, but now the room must feel like an oven.

Sometimes she is asking me 200฿ for food, or 75฿ for water, or medicines. I always send her more, and she sends me pictures of everything that she buys. This morning she told me that she could not buy food because she is rejecting work after someone asked her to do something humiliating. She is really struggling.

I clench my teeth when I think that my money could have been used to pay for her daughter’s education instead of being wasted at Zara and Gucci. I did not think about helping so much like that before I lost that money, but now that I have seen it gone away, I would not mind to use it for a good cause. If it were returned to me, I would give it back 100% to real charity.

Bangkok has glitz and shimmer, views over the city at night draw plaudits on photo-centric websites. Add in the overall politeness and kindness of Thai people and it's a mythic combination.

But there's a different reality for many residents. The landlord should not be reported, as there are worse living conditions in the Thai capital. And you can get a more commodious rental flat for a few thousand baht monthly rental.

Bro Haumann, don't beat yourself up over the situation. I'm sorry you ended up involuntarily donating to some gold-digger's Louis Vuitton fund. Yeah, it sucks. But you got out alive, all limbs intact, correct? Possibly, you still have the option to live life as a straight-up individual, and this lady does not. I don't know her and I don't know you, but I know this: living well is a revenge of sorts. Meditate on that and see if it serves as an effective salve.

There are many opportunities for both charitable work and satisfying sex in BKK. You may explore at your leisure--sadder perhaps, but also wiser.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I was already forgiving and moving on, but I've just found that she is posting reels showing the bankslips of the money that has been transferred to her, followed by images of the luxury life she is having with that stolen money

And to make it worst, there are friends replying to these clips with the 555! laughs. Male and female friends that I've already met with her and are accomplices of her scams

New multiple profiles, new pictures but always wearing a hat.

I have been told that her strategy now is to say that she is at the hospital and needs some extra money to pay the bill. Of course, she promises to return on the next day. Even talks about suicide because the situation is too embarrassing for her. Unmask her by asking for specific details like a picture of the invoice, or a selfie at the hospital to prove that she is really there, and she will tell you to fuck off and go to hell.

\There are so many scams around..  the latest one seems to be video calling they don't reply at first as they reverse search your phone number etc.. is it linked to social media Facebook instagram etc etc.  can they see  your personal details and friends lists.. if they can find this they they video call you and maybe sext text you getting you all wound up..  this is all screen shot and then they threaten to release it to all your friends/relatives etc etc unless you pay.

some are emptynthreats. and some are not. all you have is 3 options.

1 pay them and be sure they will keep asking for more
2 don't pay and block them. this is a massive gamble will they send family/friends the pictures and texts?

3 go to police and let them know you've been scammed and also that you employ escort services.  depending on the country this could land you in deep DoDo in countries where this is illegal.


so be careful who you share numbers with and contacts.  especially if you have to hide this part of the life you lead.

don't do video calls or send explicit with new contacts..

Adding on this - for BKK resident :

Never ever use the number you use that is linked to your prompt pay account - for the exact same reason.
They just have to put this number on their bank account to retrieve your full name (as if they are about to send money to you)
