There was in general, a little Police action going on in general, in North Point area (it was about 23:30, so quite late).
They were just doing regular checks on people i think?
Not trying to be racist, but they did mostly check indo/fili/indian etc. people and when i walked past, i just heard
police ask general questions, why are you in HK,  when did you come, do you work etc.
So i think nothing to worry about!

Who was on the street, from your observation? SE Asian women who appeared to be offering services? Was there a group of uniformed LE stopping people to ask questions of them?

I'm curious because while I've been in NP for various reasons, I've never seen LE asking anyone anything, and the pedestrian mix seems typically HK Chinese.

Of course you're not going to know anything in-depth, but describe your observations, please.
