That's true, the good thing is you can go back and delete locations so it looks like you're just driving a long route. End of the month I get a Google alert about where I've been. Make a habit of reviewing that removing any places (hotel, etc.) I don't have any reason to be at.

The point of having two phones is so u can leave one phone at work or gym or home, and then take ur mongering phone with u to the appointment. Phone being tracked will show that u are still at work.

Having two phones may have logistic issues (e.g., bills on credit card, hiding the extra phones) and leaving the main phone at work may also problematic (how to explain you are in "meetings" all the time).
My method is to join a gym that's close to action. I live in Hong Kong so the gym to join is Pure Fitness in LKF or Soho. Get a personal locker and put your the phone there then go to Kama or Mia or one of the numerous spas in the area, or use Butterfly hotel across the street for outcalls. Your SO will track you in the gym during that 1-2 hr, and you can explain your not answering her calls or messages by saying you are in a class. After the deed, go back to the gym and take a shower, to get rid of the scent and explain the wet hair.
Of course, you need to actually go to the gym to exercise too. Let's say you go every Mon, Wed and Fri, but use one of the days (randomly chosen) to punt. Your SO will then get accustomed to the routine. It's the irregularity of your behaviour that raises suspicion.
For bros whose SO use the same gym, take up swimming or ceramics? For those whose SO share every hobbies with you, you are a lucky man and should not punt.

Gym for me too. Pure has in Wanchai, CWB and TST (though a bit far in K11) as well as central. The shower is great and have used it many times. You'll need to check in and out and that is "evidence" if it gets to that point. Gym is also a fairly reasonable excuse not to pick up or reply immediately.

As also mentioned by the previous bro, you'll need to actually go sometimes, try to keep fit, and know the basics on exercising and how equipment works and stuff. Either way can't be a bad habit to pick up.

I don't think anyone even needs to go into airplane mode as long as you turn off your location tracking in Android (I'm not familiar with iOS).
Location does get turned off if you battery falls below X% if you have set things up that way. Battery Saver Mode is a perfect excuse.

My location tracking is on all the time so my Google Maps timeline has recorded every visit of mine to places like Kimberly Hotel along with the time (3:56PM to 4:04PM etc.). I will have to turn this off when I start dating.

Here is something you can try.

If this is for SO only.  You might able to get away with GV (Secondary phone w/o SIM Card.)

1. SO have your regular phone # or contact.  So add a GV number to your SO phone's contact as a secondary number.
2. Call your SO phone and see what comes up.  I think it would just be your name.  Unless it would show number.
3. Now if SO call your regular number, your phone would ring as well as your GV Phone (Call Forward).
4.  When there is wifi signal, your GV phone will work like a regular phone.  Therefore you may not need to have a second sim.

Sorry to bump this thread but I just got hit with the SO wanting my location too.  Was able to hold it off for a long while but recently no way around it.

We are iphone users and she uses the Find My app (the one that comes with the iphone) or iMessage to see where I am.  So I was thinking to use a old iphone and turn on the location sharing on that phone, leaving it at the office while I go punt.  But I realized that since we have family sharing, she could see all my devices and hence the second iphone.  She hasn't figured that out yet (at least I dont think so )

Anyone have other ideas to spoof my iphone location so I can still go punt?  Turning my iphone to airplane mode is not a realistic option for me.  Please...

I am not an expert with iPhone findmyphone but logging out of your Apple ID account on the phone might disable it temporarily.  As I understand switching the phone off does not work and even if you have a burner phone, your iPhone will still be tracking you. You could try airplane mode also as has been suggested as the find me app uses networks (but I can’t be 100% certain so check this yourself)

The gym idea is a good one but it depends on how safe the lockers are? And like some have suggested leaving your phone at the office in a safe location?

OP, You’ve raised an interesting topic because it’s often easy to forget just how much of our life is tracked and logged by the devices we use. Sometimes it feels like all of our anonymity has been taken away.

Airplane mode is the safest bet for iPhones.

Keep in mind, the Apple ecosystem for devices and tracking is broad.  You could simply disable location sharing on the phone, but if you happened to have a pair of Apple Airpods linked to your account those would still show up and track location via the Find My app.  Airplane mode phone on the phone should prevent any local devices from reporting up any location updates.
