ALLLLLL the things

Bangkok dips into the rainy season, skies grey up like a horror movie, low rumbles of thunder, storm cells sweep the skyline, puddles form on creaky sidewalks, hulking humidity. The powers-that-be promise a slight letup to the lockdown starting September 1. COVID, unburdened by any timeline, continues its erratic path toward the infection of hosts. Vaccination numbers are increasing in this torpid Asian megacity, and that, my friends, is a Good Thing.

Everyone wants to know: when can I fly into Thailand without the burden of quarantine etc etc? No one knows. I wish I could say "October 1" or "November 1" but no one knows. Maybe 2022. Don't make any travel plans just yet.

Meanwhile, local mongers keep working girls in pocket change with assignations at local hotels. And if you go visit them you must bring ALLLLLL the things. Condoms and lube are available onsite--although if you have preferred condoms, you must bring those. Face masks--surgical or cloth. Hand sanitizer (the blue stuff often has a perfume I find irritating, so I bring pure alcohol ones. Phone, cash (yes you pay upfront here). Some small gift because why not. Don't forget your dick, bring that meat appendage.

Here's a pic some guy posted on one of the Telegram groups. It would be better if she had eight arms like a Hindu goddess, each bearing a totem of The Hobby, but she's only got two arms and...a pair of surgically enhanced hooters.

Still far away from being even close to good, but there was noticeably more spring in Bangkok’s step this morning.

A number of the street vendors that just disappeared a couple months ago were back out this morning. Not back to normal, but much better.

Even a few side street restaurants were opening up, presumably to get a jump start on the Wednesday’s loosening of lock down measures that will allow them to open “reduced capacity dining in for double vaccinated clients being served by double vaccinated staff”. Two days and dine-in may be an option for the lucky vaccinated ones.

The local open air clothing market also show some signs of life. This market is packed in non-COVID times, but has been a complete ghost town the last couple of months. A handful of shops stayed open, skirting lock down laws by optically switching from direct to customer sales to wholesale, bulk only sales … with bulk conveniently meaning a minimum purchase of 1 item required. Wink, wink. Today, however, was different. More shops opening up, some even going as far as setting up the display cases outside the shop.

Hopefully some first small steps on the long way to recovery…

Change of course in the final decision ... restaurants can open with reduced capacity, but neither customers or staff need to vaccinated. Interesting change from what was rumored to be the decision.  Beauty salons, hairdressing shops and health massage can also reopen - the latter being foot massage only. Restaurants can open to 8 pm, the same as malls and shopping centers. Parks too. No swimming pools or gyms yet (to the best of my knowledge). Inching closer ...

Fyi, at the very bottom of the original photo are her labia lips.
Their "spread" indicates an odometer with many miles.

Nonetheless, in a heart beat . . .
