This was my first time in Myanmar and I decided to try some of the places.

First place: Emperor

Emperor is probably the most well known place for punting. Its a "fashion show" club. Girls parade around on stage strutting their stuff. Its a very seedy looking place inside a decrepit building. Most of the guys in there appear to be tourists from North East Asia. There are sofas arranged all around this very dark club facing the stage. When you walk in and sit down, a huge line of girls are brought to you for you to choose. You don't have to choose one straight away, you can always sit and watch the show and wait for another round of girls to come to you. However the waiters can be somewhat pushy after each line up. This is all part of their sales technique I guess.

The girls all seem to be local Burmese and mostly good looking. All petite. I eventually picked a girl who looked like British Chinese actress Gemma Chan but far more petite and with darker skin.

On the way out of the club you will be hassled by condom sellers and the taxi the club puts you in will almost certainly rip you off. I was staying at the Best Western Chinatown hotel which is only a 2 minute ride away. The hotel will definitely ask for the girl's ID.

Unfortunately, although this girl was hot, she was a dead fish and very cold to me. Didn't speak much English either. From what I've read, this seems to be the norm in Myanmar. I was put off by this and couldnt keep it up, and eventually left her leave about an hour and a half. I should have known this because she was quite cold in her vibe when she sat down next to me in the club. Lesson learned.

USD100 wasted - did I also mention this is also quite expensive as well? This sort of money goes a very long way in this country.



Second Place: Club5 at Park Royale Hotel

This is a totally different place to Emperor. It's in the basement of the Park Royale hotel (5 star hotel). It looks like a brighter, more friendly version of Escape in Wan Chai without bar people and escorts looking to force you to spend money on drinks, or put date rape in the drinks to steal your money. There is a band (from Philippines no less) and there is a USD8 entrance fee - expensive for Burmese standards. Drinks are also around USD2 to USD3 a pop - again, expensive by Burmese standards.

Because of this high price, most of the people in there are either male tourists (probably guests at the hotel) or wealthier Burmese guys. It a classier looking establishment than Emperor by far. It also seems like the girls in there are of a higher class as well than Emperor - by that I mean slightly better educated and can speak English fairly well.

I sat around drinking and listening to the band, til about 11pm when one of the girls approached me and asked me to talk to her friend. Her friend was pretty - not as good looking at the girl I had at Emperor but still quite good looking. Skinny, petite body. Spoke English very well - you could tell she'd had a good education in Myanmar or came from a middle class family.

Anyway took her back for USD100. This was a better experience than the girl I had at Emperor. Yes I also had to get her ID registered in the hotel lobby. She also did some pretend shyness thing of hiding under the duvet after she got naked (apparently quite common amongst Burmese hookers?)

Anyway she was a good shag and gave DFK. Pounded her and paid her.

Oh and after both punts, the hotel security rang my room after the girl left to make sure I was ok. Unsure if this is the norm in Burma.


All in all, do I recommend Burma for punting? Maybe if you're adventurous and want to try something a bit different. But just like the country, it is nowhere near developed as Thailand. It has a long way to go in prostitution (which is still illegal might I add).

It's also quite expensive and I feel as though you're more likely to get the experience I had with the first girl than with the second.

Never thought Myanmar would be double the cost of Cambodia.
Might strike that country off my short list now.

Yep. Just like the cost of hotels, I think the lack of competition there in prostitution makes the prices so high. Perhaps it might change in the next couple of years as both the tourism and sex industry develop.

For the moment, Myanmar will be off my list, but just dormant.  It could become active again just for the heck of it

From a lot of reports, including my own experience, you’ll notice that Burmese WG usually have this Buddhist conservative guilt happening.

They seem to feel genuinely guilty about embracing their sexuality. As a result, PSE in Burma is probably harder to find than a holy grail.

Starfish seems to be standard psorion for 90% of the WG my friend and I had there. It was crazy. I had a talk with two of them and asked if that’s they also do it worth their bf and they said “yes”

I asked if their bf complained and broke up with them over this issue and both answers were also a yes. Despite that they have zero drive to improve. Suffice to say it was not on our list of repeat mongering destinations. Thankfully we at least find our non mongering portion much more agreeable

On top of everything the price is also not competitive at all. Someone mentioned Laos, which do have certain parallel to Burna although I find Lao girls to be very very GFE and genuine. But that’s another story for another day and another thread

Yet strangely Thais don't have any of that buddhist guilt even though they are staunch followers of buddhism and  dont seem to know or are fully aware of the 8 precepts of buddhism -which is  fundamental to following buddhism!
