I was about 13yo (1989) at the time. My only Savior was the triple X channel which was scrambled but the audio was still good. If you flip the channels enough sometimes you can get lucky to see half the screen unscrambled. Of course the actors look like the na'vi with the discolored blue/purple skin.

Another time I pulled off a miracle. I somehow subscribed to penthouse magazine. I remember sending to penthouse an envelope with 2 ten dollar bills 1 five dollar bill 4 singles and EXACT change...  96 cents.  Suprisingly penthouse accepted the money! Lol. Once a month I would get really nervous and ALWAYS be the first person to pickup the mail (1990).

Tricking the cable tv by quickly switching in and out of the Spice network was a good past time when the parents were away.  

We use to have one of those black boxes that unlocked all the cable tv channels, however that thing had a physical lock on the back to prevent minors from activating the adult channels.  I pillaged the house and found the keys to that thing, however shortly after the black box service no longer worked.

When I was 16 I had a fake ID that allowed me to buy some naughty magazines from the nearby asian liquor store....it also worked for purchasing some St. Ides malt liquor.  

Can't believe these kids don't even really need to work for it anymore.

A local TV station used to play soft core, late Friday nights. Sometimes I would sneak down in the wee hours and watch it with volume as low as audibly possible.
For a time, my parents also had a black box. And my parents traveled a bit during my teenage years. So I would sneak into their room and record movies on the VCR. The first 10min of the VHS tape was some regular boring movie and then record the good stuff. I'd label it with the super boring movie, and have it on my bookshelf openly. No one suspected a thing. Lol. Sadly, the box got scrambled after a few months and my parents never got a new one.

Thanks for the vcr becoming more common and the video tapes passed on by friends,  and a lil later hidden in a video cassette the decoder to see that famous channel.
