if you don't choose fs, can you just pay for sauna use only?

simple answer to that is … mostly no for FS saunasin HK … except you do get drinks and some food
what you asked about is available only in the upmarket full facility veggie saunas in HK but without the FS part of course

Good choice for a first visit ... Hygiene is first on my priority - and sunny seems fair. I don't understand while we pay for almost twice the amount of a veggie while the facility is 1000% less clean. in the TST area for FS, Sunny, Venice, Utopia, Tak Hing and the basement in a Hotel (close to Mira hotel - can't remember the name) and another one basement in a Hotel in TST E - (sorry can't remember either) seems to have a clean facility. I saw the almost all in Jorday, "TST Sauna" , the sauna in back alley don't seem to be clean for me. Sorry I'm not a hygiene freak but I don't want to bring any unnecessary germs home.

The one in tst east you have in mind is probably kobe at the basement of regal hotel.  A more upmarket one is the xanadu at grand Stamford intercontinental hotel.  The one at the basement of Mira is called something Dragon,  I think.

Stanford hotel - yes, is vegi.
Mira basement - good but run out of business
Kobe - probably the first place to have girl's photo

One thing super good with Sunny ... The place is small - girl rooms are at another side and need to walk through the lounge area ... bros get to watch each girl at close distance like a beauty pageant - and can ask the mamasan the specific girl's number. fewer surprise afterwards, hopefully.

Agree with wickedwickedsin, a nice point about Sunny Island is that as he says the girl's waiting area must be one side of the sauna and the rooms the other side, with the waiting area in the middle, so the girls walk through the waiting area when they go over to get the room ready for clients. So unlike other places, you'll get to see your girl in full light before the session (and she'll see you , note)... as she walks through she'll probably look at you and you'll look at her, you're both thinking in a few minutes we're going to be...

Zanadu was my first sauna experience in HK... and I needed to learn. I thought as it was in TST it would be FS. But it wasn't. I wondered what I had done wrong, but then I thought again and wondered if it was because it was essentially part of F+Grand Stanford. So I tried the now closed Sun Hot Spring Sauna in Prat Avenue... that was a different experience!
