Yes, will be there the 28th and 29th plus the 3rd to the 5th (and then I go to HK for 5th through 7th). Have a friend from the US I'll be with (we're headed to Full Moon Party for NYE on Ko Phangan in between the two stints in Bangkok). He gets in late the 28th (I get in around noon).
Plan of record is spending 28th/29th near Nana, coming back late on 3rd and spending the 4th hitting the temple/palaces/Khao San Road (and staying near the river since that helps with that). He leaves early on the 5th, I leave that morning for HK (and I probably will have questions at some point since I want to try and get action going once I get to HK, but my HK experience is limited to the walkups in Sheung Wan and an OK but not memorable freelancer I ran into in LKF).
I've done Bangkok, Ko Samui and Chiang Mai before by myself as well as Pattaya and Chiang Mai with this friend- he has only done an overnight in Bangkok so going to show him Nana. Have done Thermae, gogos, BJ bars and soapies so I kind of know the deal (but wouldn't hold myself out as much of an expert). Bangkok on NYE can be pretty fun, though I think they have cracked down a bit on the open-air bars that are converted vans and so on thanks to the junta running the place. Nana is still going, though, from what I understand.
