any sauna recommendations in HK?

So I'll be visiting HK next week and was looking to meet up with an old time friend of mine to go to a nice spa with decent facilities - eg jacuzzi, comfy lounge, just to chat and catch up whilst waiting for our massage. We like our girls young (20s) if possible but not essential. A good massage is most important. FS not necessary.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

is HJ necessary ?

sauna girls in HK are at least 25+, most are around 30+

edit - I just checked you've previously been participating in this forum    so here's what I know :

if you are looking for a full facility deluxe sauna, these are all veggie saunas and depending on the chemistry with your girl
and if your girl thinks you will tip her above the normal tips, you will most likely get HE (be sure NOT to ask for a strong massage when asked in the rest area)
tipping for the girls is $400+ for 2 sessions of massage (90 mins) if you get HE and $300 if just a massage.

HK side :
Windsor Sauna Spa above fortress MTR station
Royal Spa in CWB opposite Victoria Park (now under renovation until end July)
Oriental Palms Spring Sauna in Wanchai

Kowloon:
Oriental Palms Spring Sauna in TST East (newest sauna to date)
The Sauna Spa in TST East
Club Cavalier in TST Kimberly hotel

if you're not looking for deluxe facilities then there are plenty of places that you'll get HJ/FS automatically

hope you find these places to your liking, & as usual, please report back

Thanks for the info twiceAweek. As you've probably figured out, HE would be necessary for a good time

Those places look really nice, I'd love to try out the Oriental Palms in TST. Just to be clear, how much would we be looking at for the total price of entry, massage and tip? (if we get a HE).

I've read a lot of good things on these forums about Kama spa - what's the set up there? Is it just book, go in and leave again or is there an area to sit and relax?

Thanks again

what is the current tipping rate for 1 hour at a walkup spa/massage place? I am not sure I was ripped-off or not recently.

For OPS in TST East  the charges are as follows :

for a 90 min massage (no 10% service charge)

11 am to 2 pm (based on your arrival time) and 9 pm to 1 am - $518

2 pm to 9 pm - $650

1 am to 6 am - $438

Tipping : mandatory $300 for 90 mins
at least $400 and up to $600 if you get HE depending on how well you got along (just make sure you ask for a younger girl with medium strength when they ask you)

A full facility sauna is totally different from a walk up massage place (like Kama)
Facilities include a huge wet area with steam, sauna, hot & ice pools; seating area to relax in the wet area for consumption of fruits and snacks and deserts
In the rest area there are individual reclining sofa seating, there is an entire menu (which changes depending on time of day) with restaurant type food,
individual TV and big screen TV, ambiance is such that you can talk with friends or take a nap there
All these are included in the price of the sauna

walk up massage places do not have these facilities nor provision of food and drinks (except maybe a can of beer or soda at most)

fun in the room ?  girls in saunas have to be more discrete where as anything goes (depending on the establishment and the girl) in a walk up massage

you should visit both types of establishments to see the difference

Wow, that seems quite expensive.  For a basic sauna in China I've paid 100rmb though the food wasn't up to much.  I went to a nicer place in Beijing that had water shower massage tables and outdoor hot springs (sadly didn't have my trunks, and it was mixed bathing).  That was 200 rmb entrance at lunch time, plus costs of massage (had a wet side body scrub at this one, didn't visit the girls as it was veggie).  Fella did a sneaky upsell on some special moisturiser, total bill was only.around 350 rmb

if you compare this to china's average sauna joints its expensive but if you compare to the up market ones its not.

if you compare this to the HK walk up massage places - overall cost is slightly higher but considering the additional facilities, food and drinks its in fact quite a bit cheaper

Better to go to Shenzhen, especially if you have a multi-entry visa. I'm used to the level of service offered in Seoul and mainland China. In Hong Kong I only occasionally go to walk-up massage joints.

if you've only experienced walk up massage places then you should at least try a proper sauna place in HK otherwise you can't compare

So last night I met up with my friend and went to the Oriental Palm Springs in east TST. Got there at 11pm and was told there was a wait - until 1am!!!!

Unbelievable for a Thursday night. Of course we weren't going to wait around that long so left. Quite disappointed. But again, it has piqued my interest. Must be amazing if it's that busy (that or very understaffed).
