According to the Census and Statistics Department’s latest annual edition of “Women and Men in Hong Kong – Key Statistics", there are only 904 men for every 1,000 women in the city,. In 2001, there were 956 men for every 1,000 women; falling to 912 to 1,000 in 2006. Last year, there were 3,287,400 men and 3,638,500 women in Hong Kong. The figures show that, excluding people over 80, the age group which manifests the worst gender inequality is 35 to 39. In that group there were 733 men for every 1,000 women last year. That group’s figures were 749 men for every 1,000 women in 2006. The 2007 figures for the 30-34 age group were 755 men for every 1,000 women, falling from 771 men for every 1,000 women in 2006. Shiu Ka-chun, a lecturer at the Baptist University’s department of social work, urged the government to research the shortage of men and its social and political impact.
A better than 8:10 ratio in key sectors ... meaning that out of every 10 guys over 30, 1 has to look after 3 women ... not counting all the gay / shy / impotent men of course, which just makes the numbers even better ..!!
Man, is this a great city for a guy live in
