So these walk ups are usually in primarily residential buildings with security desks sometimes.  If they ask you to register at the front, what do you say/do?

you either do what the security people ask or you leave

1) register
2) ask for WG recommendations
3) say thank you

Personally, I would hang back a bit to see if security literally checks for ID then if not would sign a fictitious name such as Mick E Mouse or something along those lines.

to save you headaches, may I suggest you just avoid these places that ask for IDs ?
most WGs would avoid renting places that have tight security so there are not that many anyway

I would, honestly.  But 1) I don't know if these buildings have security until I visit them.  2) The one I have in mind (Southern Building in Fortress Hill) has some rather nice looking girls I'd like to try out.

I have been to Southern Building many times.  They never ask me for any ID or to sign anything.  But then I'm a gwei lo, so they're probably afraid to ask.

But I'm very much with Paka on this...  The basic, fundamental fact is that you're not doing anything illegal, and  most of the Asian world not even bat an eye if they found out.  The security guys know exactly what you're doing in any case.  They're just doing their job...  going through the motions.  Chances are, they've never even seen the lady you're hoping to bonk...  But if they are actually aware of what's going on and keep their eyes to the ground, they might actually have some useful suggestions!

The absolute worst that happens is that some shit-storm occurs in the building when you are there.  If that happens, then the police will have your ID number...  and they might discreetly contact you.  I have had some interactions with the HK police in conjunction with my mongering activities.  I assure you that they were focused only on real issues, not mongering activities.

And Paka is also right...  Be courteous.  Thank them...  It never hurts to have friends in low places...

Yep, I have had a couple incidents in HK where the police were involved and asked for my HKID (one was a bar-raid that I was in at the time; the other a wild frickn party with 3 WGs in their apartment when a neighbor called in a noise complaint.  Yikes!).  They couldnt care less about my mongering at all.  I was spooked as hell handing over my HKID, but nothing bad ever came of it.
