Questions about Bangkok

I'm making a reconnaissance trip to Bangkok during this time period where there is a riot on the streets. Cheap flight tickets (I paid 100SGD for a return ticket), and Hotels are having a fire sale.
I did a bit of reading on both this board and SBF and find too much information for my short 4 day trip (I want to do every fucking thing possible). I have 2 concerns - safety (tips on how to keep safe given the situation) and price/quality ratio right now.
I would appreciate it if bros on the ground in BKK can help me 5555

1. I did some research and figured Sukhumvit is the area to be at - no protests and that's where the bars and MPs are.
a) Is that correct?
b) Any recommendations on a hotel there?

2. I'm no farang (I look asian) - so I should be able to avoid farang prices and pull girls easily - or are my assumptions wrong?

3. I intend to try the following
a) Soi Cowboy Bars
b) Have a look at a gentleman club
c) Go to Wow, Akane MPs - any other recommendations for a good soapie?
d) Go to BJ bar.
Have I missed out on anything?

4. Is the quality now bad because of the protests? Or is it business as usual? Or is the lack of demand caused higher quality gals to be left on the shelf?

I was there for a week in the middle of Jan and at that stage the Nana Plaza area was business as usual, maybe less girls (first time back in a year so not sure) but I had no problem finding girls.
Avoided Soi Cowboy as the protesters were set up there and from what I read it was dead there anyway. I presume they are still there so you would be better staying around Nana Plaza (Soi 4)

If they think you are Japanese they will try and charge you more not less I would think.

They have been set up around the Asoke station from the start which is right next to Soi Cowboy from the start of this protest where they are trying to shut down Bangkok on Jan 13.
I did not even bother going to Soi Cowboy from what I was told it was super crowded down there  but Nana plaza area was great.
on the Monday there were no street venders carts or stalls blocking the footpaths and you could walk 6 abreast without having to stop for some over weight female stopping every 6 feet to look at the goods on sale, maybe they should ban these people to the side streets it would be great but it did look very strange outside the bars in Soi 4.

Remember this was 5 weeks ago but I think they are still there and I think stickman's website had an email from a expat living there saying its pretty bad at night trying to get anywhere a couple of weeks ago.

Don't be put of going as I am heading back in May and with the crackdown in China growing I might end up staying the month in Bangkok instead.
