taking photos in pink light

Hey,

Any advice on taking good pictures with a simple point and shoot (compact) camera in pink light?

I tried converting them to black and white, which is alright but not very good.

any recoomendations much appreciated...

get a point & shoot that can shoot raw.
then afterwards you can adjust the white balance easily on photoshop or someother software.

Also jpg works

Of course with raw fiels more info and better output from files.
But also with jpg files should work.

Just have something neutral as reference in the pictures.
Like knowing that something is gray or should be white.
White in shadow area works as neutral gray.

As when doing th ecolor balance you need point to an area that
should be neutral.

Shooting a RAW image is the easiest and the canon G series offers this function as do others.

You can play with wB in photo shop or Lightroom on jpegs but not as much latitude.

Black and white conversation is good idea but take your time with this don't just desaturate the image or it will just look flat. Adjust contrasts as well and adjust each colour slider separately
