Possible Credit Card Fraud?

Hello all.

This is my first time posting but I have been browsing these forums for quite sometime now trying to learn as much as Ican.

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong or improper section to post in.  Or written in the wrong format.

The following is what recently happened to me and I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else or if anyone else has ever suspected the same thing.

FYI I am going to keep the name of this service provider private as I am only suspicious and I have no proof.  I will disclose the name of the provider if I am given permission by the admins to do so.

I went to go see a walk up I have been eyeing for quite some time as there is something about her DB pictures that draws me to her.  Even tho I have read some not so good reviews, I decided to give her a try.

I paid special attention while I was there as I read a previous poster about this provider and how he thought she might have been going through his stuff while he was in the shower as he saw his jacket swinging in motion after the shower.  However he checked his wallet and everything was in place.

Because of the previous review I read, I made sure that I remember the exact placement of how my clothes are placed (to see if there was a different before and after).  She took my shirt and hung it up in the hallway by the washroom and layed my pants down on a bench next to the bed.  I thought this was a little odd as my clothing usually stays together while this time they were at least ten feet apart around a corner.

I showered by myself and she told me to lock the door as the door wouldnt stay closed.  Because I was a little worried due to the review I read and finding the placement of my clothes  being odd.  I rushed though the shower and came back out.  unfortunately I think my pants looked like they have been moved.  It wasnt in the same position I saw them in before.

The session itself was acceptable.  Nothing to brag about but nothing too bad as I have had worse.  One thing that bothered  me was that she always kept an eye on her monitor that looks out at her door.  I was looking too (as my mind wasmore worried about why my pants moved).

The session finished.  I hurried in the shower again (just in case) and left.

After I left I quickly checked my wallet.  All my money and belongs were there however.....

A credit card of mine and my photo ID was not seated all the way in its slot.  I am a person of repetition.  So I always make sure that when I put my CC back, each one goes in the proper slot and it is properly seated all the way in the slot incase it were to slip and fall out.  My CC slots are also fairly snug, and I have never seen a card slide out of place before.

Here is another kicker.  I am a visitor in Hong Kong and I have always used cash when I am travelling to avoid high CC service fees.  I carry them just in case.  That mean for the few weeks I have been travelling.  I have yet to even touch my CC and it has always sat in the same spot (why would it be siting partially out?).

As for my ID, I never touch and it is placed underneath a flap.  So I have no idea of that was never sitting in properly inmy wall before, so that could have slipped partially out without me knowing since it is always hiding under a flap.

Now I don't want to jump to conclusion as this is all suspicion and I have absolutely no proof.  I was just wondering if anyone has heard of CC scams before from WG's?  Or if anyone has experienced the same/similar thing?  ie. having CC fraud shortly after visiting a WG.

For most CC fraud these days, not only will the CC information do.  You would need the owners personal information such as a full name, address and birthday.......all found on a persons ID/drivers license.  Both of these items might have been tampered with.

I did a quick search about CC fraud and found nothing.

Let me know what you guys think.  Am I just worrying myself over nothing or suspicion or I have something to worry about?

If you want peace of mind.
Call your credit card  company and Cancel the Card immediately.
Dont have to wait for proof or wait until a fraudalent transaction happen on your Card.

In HK, I personally never heard CC fraud / details stolen by WG.

While  "cash" money stolen is common and it happens everywhere in the world.

Just call your CC company and ask them to keep an eye out for any suspicious transactions.

Tell them you left your pants and wallet unattended in a clothing store change booth for 10 minutes and your cards appeared to have been moved.

You could also ask them to put a freeze on the card if you don't expect to be needing it till you get home, then replace it at your leisure.

I'm just throwing ideas out there... Might it be possible that this gal routinely tries to sneak at a punter's wallet or their ID card to see if he might be an LE in plain clothes, with no intentions of stealing?

I tried calling my CC company and tell them to watch out for suspicious transactions on my card.  However my HK cell isn't able to dial out to there 1-800 number for some reason.

The checking for LE ID could be a possibility.  But that's pretty ballsy if you ask me if you were to get caught by LE for looking though their personal belongings.  Just sneaking around in someone's wallet when they are not around is bad enough.

Just knowing that CC fraud hasn't been heard of before gives me a great deal of assurance.

Thanks for all your replies.

These forums have helped me a great deal with my Hong Kong punting ventures lol.  I don't know what I would do without these forums.  Especially for a non Chinese reader to navigate around this scene.

I am currently at sauna 18.  And without the step by step instructions by chickenchoppa.  I would never have gathered enough balls to venture off to a place like this on my own with the fear of not knowing what to do.

Thanks guys!!!

If she is a permanent walk up WG with HKID, there is no reason why she should be afraid of LE.

LE only go for those short term stay visa WGs.

Well maybe she is just nosy and busybody. Some biatches want to know everything about the person she is fucking.
or she had bad experience with customer before.

In any case, good thread, good warning and good advice.

Just be cafeful with your belongings.

Once I was in China, and tried to use my credit card at a hotel that I stayed for a few days. When checking out,  it was denied for some reason. They ran it a few times and it was still denied. I said to use the deposit since I put the deposit on the same credit card. The hotel said the deposit was no good since it denied a few days later. Fought over this that it was still good. Fortunately, I had enough cash to pay the bill. This happened over 10 years ago.

Later, I had to call the 800 number, long distance from China. They gave a a stupid reason my credit card was compromised. I asked what do you mean by "compromised". They didn't want to get into details. I think a set of credit cards numbers were stolen or were swiped and they stop them all. They didn't want to tell me the whole story. I was little pissed.  I had to find a way to get cash like a few American Express checks. I was very low only money for that trip.  I could have gotten an emergency cash advance with no charge but it would have taken a few days.

I'm usually a little paranoid so I tend to carry as little as possible when visiting a wg... just enough cash for the session and one form of id.  I also shower fairly quickly to limit the time I'm away from my stuff.  Sorry to hear about your experience, as the others have said, when in doubt call your credit card company.

I had this same problem with my bank once, but a close look at their website elicited a number for international callers.

I'd be surprised if your credit company didn't have the same on their site somewhere.
