choson jok

FYI - North East Korean-Chinese - Choson Jok

These "koreans" are in my opinion more Chinese than they are Korean.  Ethnically, they are Korean, probably immigrated from the korean pennisula a few generations back.  But I'll be willing to bet that genetically, everyone in NE China and the Koreas are more similar than they are different.  Culturally, they are either 2nd or 3rd generation so their Chinese is better than their Korean, just like an ABC's english is better than their Chinese.

So my question is....if you cant tell these girls apart from a ethnically Chinese WG from Shenyang...does it really count as having had a Korean WG?  kinda like going to vegas...doing a white chick who's grandmother was from Germany and saying you partook in a German WG.  to me..east asians are all about the same, my differentiation starts at pretty or not pretty.   a pretty Chinese girl is the same as a pretty Korean and pretty Japanese.....other than language...can't really tell them apart either.

** Side note - from what I have seen, it sucks for Korean-Chinese as they are really looked down upon by Koreans from Korea...and treated as second class citizens in China.

from korea? as in both north koreans & south koreans?  china borders russia, north korea, mongolia, etc is so common to be a mix of the batch.  Personally I find the chinese russian mix sooooo hot

I actually didn't mean a mixed chinese korean.  When South Koreans say "korean-chinese or Choson jok", it's an ethnically Korean person, either from NK or SK, born and raised in china and have been there for a couple generations.  The general stereotypes South Koreans have of them, dirty, untrustworthy, swindlers...etc.  Typical descriptions one group has of the group they look down upon.

The best analogy is how the Chinese-Vietnamese are viewed/treated by HKer's.

It's all quite silly....Pots and Kettle...all of them.

When speaking in English, I find that real Koreans pronounce the word "Korea" different from most people (even westernized Koreans). It's hard to explain in words, but they emphasize the "Kor" part more, while most other people I find will emphasize the "e". As a test, say "Korea" out loud and see if your mouth widens when your pronounce the "e", if so, you probably weren't born in Korea.
