Heh...actually I would like to admit that I used to spoil the market. Back when I was noobie at Macau punting, I used to routinely give 400-500 as tips to the girls. Blame it on spending too much time in the States where it's like ingrained in you to leave a tip when getting good service,

Then I read more on this board and realized that it's dumb. And all the extra money adds up. So now, I just rock on in the saunas and most of the time I don't leave a tip. And when I do nowadays, at most it's just MOP 200.

So to all of you out there, I apologize for spoiling the market back then. Heh...

I think its just the overall cost of living in China has risen and peoples' expectations etc have risen.  Last month i went to CP, after not having gone there for a few years.  Went to Peninsula and it was like 3/x/10 and the quality was crap.  The one i picked was just barely MCOT and the others i saw were just about impossible for me to pick.  

i still remember ordering take out when i live in Qiao Tou and for 4-5 things it was never rmb100 , used to average about rmb15-20 per dish, now its more like 20-40 at least, no more rmb5 bowl of noodles anymore......

That's my point. Those that are stationed or on biz trips are usually the ones the company can trust to make things happen on their own.

Imagine the hustle it took to muscle your way out of Africa, with almost no money, hustle your way into HK, survive with all the locals all racist on your ass. Some of those guys got huge "balls" and may not be nice people but they don't represent the general population of their culture. This is why your GFs in the business might be afraid of Africans and believe all Africans are that way. All they see are the ones with hustle. You can replace "African" with "American" or "Nepalese" or "Bulgarian" or whoever you want and you will find the guys with enough hustle to rise to the top of their company or whatever and get sent on a mission.  Expats on a mission are just more assertive on the average.  

This applies to the girls too.  Those that get over here or travel got more going on than the ones taking it easy back home.

I think the ones that get things done aren't necessarily the ones that are more aggressive.  A lot of the guys i've met are just sent over for training or to do menial jobs.

Actually the African part is a racist thing on their part and in general in the region.  Sorry but this is just how most "locally" educated people think......

The girls, they come from all sorts of circumstances, most are not as brave as you think.  They ended up here because they had no choice, its either this or something shitty is going to happen at home.  

And oh.....i only have one GF at any given pont of time.......especially now or i'd be.......

You're of course the Macau expert living there and all. But my view is that quite a number of these girls are not really forced by economic circumstances at all. They just really enjoy the quick fast cash and just don't see the point in doing a factory job for RMB 2000 a month. I mean, you can just tell apart those who enjoy the money and those who truly need it. Those who enjoy the money are the same ones that splurge on expensive phones, bags, etc. Of course there are those that are lucky to get them as gifts from guys but quite a number actually pay for these thigns on their own.

Yes that's true, a good percentage of girls ended up here because they wanted to, they saw stuff they wanted or a life they wanted and they came here.  Even the ones that came here for a reason, but after paying off their debts or solving whatever problems they had, they continued working here.  They think, might as well, I'm already here, why not make the most of it, maybe I'll stick around and save some cash for later.  

A lot of the girls also have a lot of pride, not all, but many i have met.  They don't want anybody buying stuff for them, they want to buy it on their own, they'd rather you give them extra cash that you have budgeted for buying her things instead, then she can go out and buy it on her own with her friends and show off......ah....girls and their pride thing between the sorority.........i think this is rather common thing for most girls in all walks of life dontcha think?  

Oh and please don't call me an expert, just sharing information, i know jack shit about just about anything in this world......

LOL no, i'm far from being an expert, I got nabbed too early, i haven't gotten the chance to go nearly 1/2 the places you guys are talking about!  I've never been to Sanado, Rio or Emperor and i've never done a girl from the pits or done any "walker" at any of the casinos for that matter!  Now i'm quite restricted as to the places i can go and the list keeps getting narrower and narrower!   Hell i only know one good place to eat!  I eat at home most of the time!.....

Wow, 400-500 is like 64 USD to 80 USD.  I'm from the USA and I don't tip like that. Well, exect for two to three girls. These working girls I've known for over 3-5 years. I got to know them pretty well after 3-5 years. The 80 to 100 USD was on top of the little tips that I gave them over the years.

I for one, don't look up to any particular culture nor look down on any particular culture as being superior or inferior to another.  To me we're all equals that are stuck on this rock we call Earth. Cultures from different places are different from our own, who are we to say what is more "advanced" and what isn't?  I could go on about this, but i sense its futile so i will leave it at that.....

Yeah, true that. Also to add that the convenience of punting with saunas, etc in HKG, Macau and China needs to be considered too. You don't have to worry that much about LE and other stuff. That convenience itself is worth at least US$ 50 per punt if you think about it.

You talking about the Macau saunas here right? Another good thing about them Macau saunas is that you don't have to feel conscious about strangers suspecting you are up to nefarious deeds. Cos everyone else in the sauna is up to it and the staff at the sauna have all seen the entire spectrum of punters so that however perverted/horny you think you are, you're still actually quite normal!
