Lingerie Football League exists, is coming to Australia

"Can females play serious contact sport? You bet!"

So begins the slippery press release heralding the forthcoming Australian tour of the Lingerie Football League. Yep: scantily clad women playing full-on contact NFL football are on their way.

Beginning as an alternative half time entertainment at the Super Bowl—bit of a lark—the Lingerie Football League is now a real thing, consisting of "12 teams from across the United States who play a 20 week season culminating in the ultimate showdown that is Lingerie Bowl." Of course. Well an all-star team is on its way to play in Australia. And if you think it's a purely American concern, note that the tour comes as the first push to establish a Lingerie Football League locally.

The Australian 2012 LFL All-Fantasy Game Tour will feature 32 of the best players across the league as the Western Conference battles the Eastern Conference in what has been called one of the most entertaining LIVE experiences in all of sports, and fun for the whole family, with all the show and spectacle you would expect.

Queensland native and all Aussie athlete Chloe Butler is the face of the League in its push to establish a competition in Australia by 2013 with four teams - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Chloe will serve as the ambassador of LFL Football coming to Australia and will captain the Western Conference squad.

Here's Butler reading:

In it's initial effort to establish itself in Australia, the LFL All-Fantasy Game Tour will be "touching down" on Australia's "world famous east coast" in June, according to the press release. Much like a hip-hop tour, tickets will be on sale soon despite venues or dates being announced. Sounds like money in the bank! At least according to Mitchell S. Mortaza, Chairman of the Lingerie Football League, who sees the League's debut in Australia as a milestone for the sport.

"We could have never imagined the incredible response of Australia to LFL Football," says Mortaza. "While we have received offers previously to bring LIVE exhibition games to Australia, we have never had the opportunity to team with the experience and attitude of the guys we have partnered with here in Australia. This is truly a significant moment in the short history of the league as we take our first step toward introducing Aussies to LFL Football and the eventual premiere of LFL Australia in 2013."

"It’s fast and it’s explosive. It’s Football... but not as you know it... and nowhere near as ugly!"
