How much to buy house in china

How much is it to buy a house in china? Do most people own a house in china or rent? For instance, in australia 64% people rent a house. What's it like in a populated country like china? What about populated cities like beijing? Anyone live in beijing own a house? whats the average price ?? Reading a recent article in global times got me thinking. An expert in China analyzed that one should pay at least 50,000 yuan for one each square meter house in Beijing in the coming 5 years. And he held that it is the rapidly increasing population that leads to the soar of the house prices, especially in big cities. However, those estate agents supposed that the house prices soar because the houses are in short supply. When asked about the actual house prices in Beijing, this expert replied that each square meter house would cost 7,000 yuan.

That's a very interesting thread bro, thanks. What really got me thinking is this new saying in China "No house, no marriage". Recently, there was a article on china smack about "what young chinese think?" And it was filled with young men saying they hope to have a high income so they can buy a house to have a wife. It was quite sad and extremely nerve rattling to read.

It's all depends on the area you trying to own a house at.
If you looking to buy a house in Shenzhen, forget it bro.
You must be a citizen of china to buy a house in Shenzhen. You can rent one, but not own one.
That's the new law the govn made a few months back.

Umm, I know someone who just brought a new place in Shenzhen 10 months ago.  The guy is a US citizen. On the other hand,
you said it a new law just imposed a few months back.

I think Beijing has something of a similar rule to prevent foreigners from buying or limiting them to buying only 1 property.

These rules or laws are to try to keep house cost low and to try to give the locals a change.
