#1 Post at 9-5-2011 14:36  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L would you ever consider opening a sauna? the subject says it all, would you risk opening a sauna business to return a profit ? do you believe it is profitable? from what i've heard i believe it is quite profitable but i would love to see a profit and loss of one but i dont think they keep good records lol plus thinking about the dangers of owning one too ie police, gangsters, drugs etc

A veggie one, like the one's in SZ, will not be profitable bcos of the (cost of) space and competition from the ones in SZ which are just an mtr ride away. A non-veggie, there is still competition but also the 'pay-off' with triads, or protection money which really will eat into the profit, i'd imagine.

Plus most places have at least one licensed person in case anything goes down. If anything saunas are more like hourly room rentals. Charge for a rented time and what goes on behind closed doors is another story.

I knew a guy a few years ago that ran his own place. He got busted but made over a million USD doing it.
