Nah, Xplayer, I didn't mean to imply they were all FBs.  Only two are, and the rest are WG-regulars.

As you said, the "juggling" can be complicated.  You want a piece of all of them, they all want a piece of you.., but only so many free hours in a week!

i think you can consider some one as a FB if  1) there is no exchange of money - gifts on special occassions like birthdays is fine and 2) still have sex with you when they get married or they are in a Long Term relationship and like you they have to be very discrete when they meet up with you for sex and on occassions they pay for the hotel room to have sex with you.

But why complicate things?

My take is that if a gal is a WG/we start out the relationship on a P4P basis - I always maintain such pay for play basis even if the relationship develops into more.  This keeps the balance of the relationship still firmly in my own hands.

OK - how about if she's just a regular civvie...and in my case, since I do have an SO that I do NOT plan on dumping, I would always still "enhance" the relationship with regular monetary/other material goods "maintenance."  Such action on my part needs never be discussed or even be brought up to the surface - but it becomes the big elephant silently in the room - and again I keep the balnce in my favour.

And as D'art so eloquently expressed - Girls will be girls - and material sustenance by the male of the species is the natural order of things! I would never upset my own apple cart by NOT maintaining such edicts by Mommie Nature!

I don't know, SEAj, I like what Kaka had to say.  We are human.., intrinsically-emotional creatures.  Women even more so.

I think the status quo with an FB (ie:  just fucking with no other strings at all)  is not in "equilibrium".  Over the short-term, yes.., but after a year or two the "true" equilibrium in the relationship  will start applying pressure.  Either:

A:  you are not really into her anymore (or she's not into you)  and you drift apart and eventually stop seeing each other

Or

B:  She's really into you (or vice-versa) and starts applying pressure for "more".  You exit the scene as the pressure builds.

All my FB relationships ultimately went one way or the other.  3 years is my longest.  (Mind you, that's longer than many full relationships).  

I think they have a built-in expiry date.

I have a personal rule - cut off ALL extra-curricular relationships at 3 months from when I first bed her.

My longest FB relationship lasted 2 full years (not including the occasional "reunion" fucks after the main part of the relationship has ended). The main part ended when she got engaged though there were "reunions" until she finally got married. After that she encouraged me to date her younger sister, not realizing that her sister had already taken her place as one of my FBs.

My longest long-term paid (in one form or another) relationship is now in it's 6th year and no signs of ending anytime soon. With 3 of my long- terms, it's not a pay per session thing anymore, but rather periodic payments or gifts in kind (usually based on what she specifically asked for), in return for unrestricted and practically unlimited access (my schedule is the limiting factor). They are sisters. Elder was the original FB and we were always very good friends with lots of benefits.
