HK Prepaid SIM in Macau

Hi,

Are calls made from Macau using a HK prepaid SIM considered an International Call? - Going to be in HK for one day and then going directly to Macau for a couple of days

Yes making a call from Macau to HK is an international call. If you're buying a prepaid sim card, you would need to ensure it allows roaming to receive and make calls when not in HK.

As per the first reply, you will need to get an international enabled SIM card. Any mobile operator's store (3, CSL, SmartTone, China Mobile and PCCW Mobile) will have cards -- just ask for an international one. CSL is the one I use.

To follow up: I was just at Fortress, they have a Samsung mobile for HD$199. A SIM card is $48 + $28 for the minimum credit (which is plenty for local calls). Get that and you are set. Leave it behind or toss the SIM card and keep the phone for the next trip.

I think it might just be a better idea to get another SIM in Macau in that case and not top up the HK SIM that much. Thanks guys for the information!
