Just wondering how some of you with limited Cantonese deal with the street name and directions given here when calling up hotel and phone reservations.  My Canto is good enough to ask whether the girl is free, but when they start giving me directions and street names it becomes an exercise in frustration for both parties. Any tips?

If you are unable to establish a usable connections with your first choice just keep moving down your list until you make a connection that works out. The whole process becomes easier after a few successful connections. Just be prepared for some frustration with the failures and rejoice with the successes. Keep us posted on your adventures.

Just show this to the cabdriver and he will get you to the door hopefully. Yes, you have to take a cab rather than go take the MTR and find the place yourself on foot. Just treat it as a premium you have to pay for not understanding the street names.
