I want plan a little vacation.Where is the best place to go for my hard earning dollars.Im from the US and this is my first time to china.Although i was born in HK.But you have no memories at all due i was still a baby when i left.Thanks in advance

It helps if you speak mandarin but I wouldn't venture into China alone unless you kinda know your way round, probably more likely to get scammed etc. Maybe try out the HG scene in HK or sauna in Macao as suggested first and then decide whether you want to go that extra bit north into the mainland.

#17 Post at 3-12-2010 11:30  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L My friend that speaks Canto just writes in Chinese on a notepad to communicate with mainlanders when he's in China.  That seems to do the trick.  So be sure to carry notepad and pen with you.  Even if you lose it, it's ok.  I'd be more hesitant takingout a smartphone /pda for translation.  It might get stolen from you if you approach the wrong person.
