One of the world's largest accountancy firms has launched an internal investigation after a group of employees sent around emails rating the looks of new female employees.
The Dublin, Ireland branch of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) launched the probe after photos of 13 women in the office were circulated with the subject line "this would be my shortlist for the top 10".
Initially sent to 17 male staff members in the office two weeks ago, the email soon went viral on the internet, the Irish Independent reported.
The email has been forwarded to other finance and accounting companies, law firms, government departments and construction businesses.
All 13 women in the email had recently joined the firm as trainee accountants or associates.
The signature in the initial email included the line: "Voted one of the best workplaces in Ireland for 8 years running".
PricewaterhouseCoopers said they were taking the matter "extremely seriously" and would take "all necessary steps and actions" to deal with the emails.
The company is the second-biggest accounting firm in the world.
