I feel stupid posting this, but its a reminder not to let your guard down.

Was in Neptune III the other night with a lady friend. I started chatting with this filipina... she was telling me that she worked in Singapore as a bartender and was here on holiday. She told me that she was looking for a job in HK, and she seemed clueless about the area so I decided to take her along to Neptune II. Anyways, long story short, later my lady friend was dancing and I had to use the toilet. Stupidly, I asked the filipina to watch my stuff. Came back and my camera was gone. Luckily that was all she took. Spent a bit of time checking out other bars / clubs in the area and she was nowhere to be found.

Its not a big deal really as the camera was an old piece of shit and there weren't any pics on it, I'm just kicking myself for being so stupid. Besides that it was a great night.

I was talking to a bouncer at a club in the area about the situation, and he said, 'yep, filipinas are like that'. Hate to stereotype the whole group, but filipinas are some of the best liars I know.

Girl said her name was Joy. Average height (for a filipina), chubby, some acne on her face, longish hair. I heard from a reliable source that she has been in HK for some time and tends to frequent Galaxy.

Not going to make a comment on Filipinas being liars but no matter where you're at in a public place, never leave your personal items unattended or attended by someone you had just met, particular some girl you met in a bar like Neptunes. What would you do if you run into her next time? Call the police or apprehend her yourself and make her service you for the theft?

I would quickly report it to the police.  If you want your camera back, and if you happen to see her again like 3 months later,  and get the police involved, they would most likely ask why you did't you report when it happened.  

If the police ask you about money for sex, say NO.

Anyway, it seems like the camera is not important.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Stupid intoxicated mistake, I learned my lesson. Luckily it was just a standard point and shoot cam, nothing too expensive.

Yes, I know the type. At least she didn't go into those long winded stories about her sick father who needs HK$10k for an operation or her mother who has no money for medication and going blind as a result. Yes, they love the drama and these life and death stories. Makes you feel bad you don't offer them some money but I've heard it too many times before.

2 points for this thread.

1st. As well as go to the police, complain to both Galaxy and Neptune 3. Just say youare looking for the girl (give her name and description ) and mention you have logged a complaint to the police. They will say it's nothing to do with them which it isn't and leave it at that. They will know who she is and word will soon get round and I bet good money they will ban her. They won't want any hassle or bad rep. In other words she will be fucked if she can work any regular joints and her manager will probably send her home. Word spreads quickly across the doorstaff in Wanchai and if you want revenge then this will be the most effective thing you can do to her.

2nd. There are as many bare faced Chinese, Thai, Columbian, [insert nationality here] liars out there as there are from the Philippines. I've met my fair share across the board but I've also actually been to visit some of the same girls I met in Wanchai (3 upto now) in Manila while working out there and been fortunate to visit their family homes. Believe me when I say they live in shitholes and in each case the story they told me over drinks in Fenwick, Neptune or wherever it was stacked ip pretty much word for word. Sick parents, multiple kids and babys around the place, sisters moms and cousins with diabetes or needing major dental work. You name it, they got it all and no money to pay for it other than sending the youngest or prettiest girls off to work sucking dick or having their pussies banged.

My point being, yes bro, you got burned. But I would guess as likely would it be with any working girl from any place. But when we assume it's all bullshit they spout then sure it could be but equally so it could well be the truth. I haven't met many (if any) working girls who do it for fun, mostly it is to pay for something be it a sick relative or school for their kid sister.

My advice, don't let this put you off Pinoys. Just be more careful next time which I'm sure you will be.

SO as I see the situation, someone lost an old camare, the situation was not dangerous in any way, it was just robbed but not violent and no health put on risk...
I could imagine you wanted a better camera nayway, now you have a really good reason to buy a new one.... you could cust be happy about it :-)

Seems like a big risk on her part for just a camera!! If i was the one who stole it i would worry about seeing the person again which would mean i wouldn't go back to this particular bar or the one like it.
