HK nightclub/KTV etiquette

So, my boss is coming to town and I have a 'mandate' to take him to a nightclub.  I'm thinking of taking him to BBoss, but not sure what the etiquette is for KTVs in HK.  I've been to ones in China and Taipei, and it's all pretty loose, wonder if HK is like that?  I don't want to be beat up and thrown out the door.

Also, I'd appreciate suggestions for places to go.. are the Macau KTVs worth the trip?

They would not throw you out of a classy place. Just go there, get a table and the waitress would ask you if you have any familiar mamasan you've dealt with. If not, then they would set one up for you but tell them you want one that speaks English. When the mamasan arrives, tell her what you type of girl you want and ask her about the charges.

do they have private rooms?  like the China KTVs?  or is it all open space?

There are private rooms in better clubs.  The rooms cost more, of course.

I thought BBoss was pretty much the top, what clubs are better?

These days in HK, there aren't many luxury end ones left as everyone heads for China because it's one quarter the cost or even less. Think you should stick with the Club BBoss to be safe.

I guess this then begs the question, what are some good KTV in Shenzhen?

i dont think they throw people out for no reason. as a business they are out to make money. as long as u dont cuz trouble it will be fine
