I dont think it's that outrageous. If the girls are in the database, that probably means someone at least semi pro shot the pictures. I can't imagine them using a point and click (although who knows). ...

if you look at the meta data, sometimes you will see what was used to take the pictures.

I have old pictures taken in 2008. They used Photoshop CS2, Canon PowerShot G6, Canon PowerShot G5, Sony DSLR-A350, and Sony DSLR-A100. I have might missed a few.

For a picture taken late 2009, they used a Canon EOS 50D and Canon EOS 40D.

I know the G5 and G6 are ponit and shoot pocket size cameras.

I use an old Canon EOS 30D. It's getting long in the tooth but still takes decent pics. I will probably hold on to the body as I'm waiting for the new 5D Mark III.

I pair it with a EF-S 17-85mm IS USM f/4-5.6 lens. These are the pics I took today with it:
http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &extra=page%3D1

I'm not too happy with the low light performance of the lens and decided to splurge on a EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 lens today. Took some test shots and they perform much better in low light. I will take more pics tomorrow and share my results.

I use my iPhone as backup but I don't like the quality of the pics.

Regarding comments that a large camera may scare the girls. I find that to be the opposite. They know a large camera i.e. DSLR will take better quality photos and in my experience they are more willing to let you take pictures and will pose. Most girls don't mind their pictures taken but they don't like poorly quality pictures that show them in bad light.

Here are pics taken with my new EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. I adjusted the ISO to 400 & 800 and kept the aperture at f/2.8. I would have had to use the flash with my old lens and that would have washed out the colours.

For the EF 17-55 mm f/2.8 are you saying you did NOT used a flash ??

It looks like your EF-S 17-85mm IS USM f/4-5.6 lens pictures are better than the 17-55mm.  Maybe it's because you used the flash.

Pictures of Wet Wet. I believe with a flash.

Love my Canon EOS 5D Mark II, awesome quality photos. It even does videos as good as a pro HD video camera. As proof just watch this season's finale of House, it was entirely shot with it.

It is a beautiful camera, but I'm thinking maybe a bit bulky for those intimate WG shots.

I did not use flash for both sets of pictures. I prefer using available surrounding light. For WW, I opened the curtains and to let in natural sunlight and I am able to use ISO100. I couldn't do that for GG as it was pissing down with rain yesterday and there wasn't much light. I had to make the most of the available light in the room.

I really like the 5D Mark II as well and was close to buying it but I decided to wait for a newer version of it (rumoured 5D Mark III).

You can push the ISO to 1000 on the Lumix GF1 to shoot in low light and still get good pictures. Beyond ISO 1000 the graininess starts to show. The size of the camera and the fact you can push the ISO to extreme levels without much deterioration was what sold me on the GF1.

Yes, the quality is way better than a pocket camera.  Have you taken and carried your camera on long vacations ? I had a 35 MM SLR about 15 years and it was a pain carrying it around on my neck. I constantly had to worry about it. I also had other things to carry and worry, my luggage. Now you add a small laptop computer with my travels. That is why I'm looking at micro 4/3 and what's coming out for Canon G12, Canon PRO 2 and LX 4/5 for this summer.  There is going to be some fierce competition.  There are rumors of new product ( camera ) from Canon and other manufactures.

I sometimes wish for a good prosumer camera but I love using my DSLR. I carry it for holidays in a Lowepro case called toploader with a telephoto lens attached to it's side. I like the toploader as I can sling it over my shoulder. It has a large front pocket that I keep my travel docs. I don't carry any other hand luggage as I like to travel as light as possible. The toploader provides easy access to the camera. Another plus point for the toploader is that it comes with a harness that lets you carry the case on your chest. Great for bringing your camera along when you ski.

http://products.lowepro.com/product/Topload-Zoom-AW,2053,8.htm

I have a large Lowepro backpack but I hardly use it due to it's bulkiness. There's a bunch of newer smaller backpacks that are great for travel. Some even have compartments for both a camera and notebook. Check them out as they will save your neck from getting bent out of shape.

Wow, this thread is about 9 months old. There has been a few other threads on taking pictures of girls and buying cameras. I would say it depends on the girl.  If the girl refuse 100% and say NO NO, don't push the issue.

In Hong Kong was told it could be the opposite because the girl wants to promote herself more.  In this case she wants pictures and want a good report from you.

I would be concern about flashing your expensive large camera around. Places involves working girl often attract some shady people.

I had a DLR 35 film camera before. I had two lens. It was too big and clumsy carrying it around.  I worried about my camera constantly traveling.  Now I prefer something small, I don't care as much, take good pictures, with a large sensor, and fast lens. I was thinking about the Panasonic GF2 but it was too expensive for me. I ended up picking up a high end compact camera this XMAS.

Edit: better wording
