#1 Post at 11-3-2010 16:30  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Razor burn So I was going down on this girl over the weekend and lazy me didn't bother to shave. Had about 2 days of growth. My phone rang and I whipped my head around to find it (expecting a conference call lol) but unfortunately my cheek ran across her inner thigh causing an instant reddening and a loud "OH F*CK! She was pissed and needlesstosay the Y was closed for the rest of the day until I shaved . But that's all beside the point. What electric shaver are you guys using? I'm currently using Gillette Mach 3 Turbo disposables with some really good shaving foam that I picked up at a great shaving store locally. I'm very happy with the smoothness (when I do shave) but I'm thinking about going with one of the Braun foil shavers for those days I need to clean up in a hurry. Remember, manscaping is not limited to the netherregion . Any suggestions?

#2 Post at 11-3-2010 18:26  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Love to help you, my man, but I gave up on electric razors a long time ago.  Used to have a Braun back in the day.  I think you should just do a random perusal of any dept store.  I don't think it matters too much which one you get since it'll never be as smooth as using the razor.

However the lotion refills run out quick and your face has to adjust to it. Before it's adjusted, your face will feel irritated after shaving. But once it adjusts, its really good. However, i still prefer a good manual razor

I did some research and it sounds like the ones with the lotion aren't nearly as good as the completely dry ones when it comes to electric shavers. Would like to hear from someone who's had different ones, and if they prefer foil or head... lol

Regardless of which brand you go with, what you seek is the highest possible oscillations or strokes per second.  This, together with small perforations in the foil, is what keeps the irritation down. I got a Panasonic one that I usually use in the shower when I wake up to do my daily routine. But if I'm really in a rush I usually brush my teeth and use it then slap some aftershave on and out the door I go. It wont be as smooth as a regular razor but if convenience is what your looking for then go electric.

#10 Post at 12-3-2010 08:01  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L I have tried using Braun in the past, but didnt find them to provide a close enough shave.  Right now I am using a philishave that I bought when I was in Japan.  So far so good, pretty close shave.  But mind you, I am the typical chinese guy that doesnt have a lot of facial hairs to start with.  As for disposable ones, I like the Gillette Mach 5 (I think its call that), the one with 5 blades, that one is pretty good.

#11 Post at 12-3-2010 11:23  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Reply #10 cn888's post I watched an interview with a manufacturer once - they basically admitted none of the recent advances in technology make much of a difference, and the best thing you can do to get a close shave is soak your stubble in water (and soap) for a while before using a blade shaver.   Sure, for saving time, electric is practical, and the pivoting multi-blade razors make things a bit easier.  But if you want a girl to relax and let go you'll need to go all the way with a time-consuming wet shave. Hear Ye!  The Mayor has spoken!

Regular shave process: 1. shower first 2. apply pre-shave oil/mineral oil and let soak while brushing teeth 3. apply shaving lotion, shave once, rinse 4. repeat step 4 for those special occasions =) Thanks guys. I'm still sticking to my Mach 3, but will pick up a braun for those emergency situations =)    strokes per second... timing is everything

Literally.  I bought a high-end Braun self-cleaning unit when I was in Germany about a year ago and it didn't give me a close enough shave, especially on my neck.  I recently went back to disposable razers (bic) and using Dermalogica preshave gell, shave gel, and post shave balm.  Best so far.  The money I save on razors goes to this and am about 25% more expensive but my face feels much better and the razor burn is almost non existent.  Watson's and Mannings sell this brand.
