I staid 2 nights in Empire Hotel Causebay for 94.80 EUR,  that makes 47.40 EUR per night. That's my confirmation booking:

Hôtel: 2 Nuits 1 Chambre                  Empire Hotel Hong Kong Causeway Bay                 94,80 EUR

Montant réglé aujourd'hui                  94,80 EUR

Sous-total                  94,80 EUR
Total                  94,80 EUR **

====================

I staid 3 nights at Empire Hotel Tsim Sha Tsui for 154.02 EUR, that makes 51.34 EUR per night.

Hôtel: 3 Nuits 1 Chambre                  Empire Hotel Kowloon Tsim Sha Tsui                 154,02 EUR

Montant réglé aujourd'hui                  154,02 EUR

Sous-total                  154,02 EUR
Total                  154,02 EUR **

================

Both hotels have safes in rooms. For get in the room you need a key card, so it's safe enough.

Damn...bro The Mira is a nice hotel but pricey !!! It's not in the range of 400$HK-600$HK that the bro is willing to pay. The starting price of rooms are more 1500$HK.
This hotel is on Kimberly Road, so the same street as Empire Hotel Tsim Sha Tsui where I staid. So, the location is perfect, unbeatable for me. I was impressed by Le Mira and wanted to book a room for my next visit. But when I checked rates, I said...Thanks, but no thanks

You're right, I've just checked rates.
I was there late january. Thre prices are definitely different on Marsh an April. I'm surprised, I thought it was a cheap hotel. Apparently, it really depends of the period of the year. It's too bad !

Yes internet rate was 120 $HK for one day, I don't remember about hourly rate....

I thought we were talking guest-houses here ... I smell a rat: the numbers only make sense if that's US$, not HK$ ... can someone confirm??

I know you were talking about guesthouses, but the hotels I've staid were in the price range of the original poster (400HK$-600HK$) at the time I was there and I thought it was there regular rates. Unfortunately, another bro found out the rates are more expensive during Marsh-April.

I can confirm internet rate was 120 Hong Kong dollars for a day at Empire Hotel Tsim Sha Tsui.

I thought it was expensive, so I looked for an internet café nearby. I had time to find one and it was not a good place. The place was too much smoky and noisy because of bunch youngsters smoking cigarettes and playing vidéos games with the speakers on.

So if anyone know of a clean cybercafe in TST, let me know.

Yeah

My mistake, cooldog answered my question about cost of the room, with an answer about cost of internet and wifi.

QUOTE:
Empire Chain of hotels provides in-room internet WIFI access for extra cost.  I remember about 120HKD per day, or 40HKD per hour.

There are indeed MUCH more affordable places than Empire.

Best way to get discreet private wifi is to sign up for PCCW, or luck out on one of the increasing number of venues providing free wifi - the government has a scheme (I even saw signs for it in Victoria Park) - Harbour City provides free wifi (so just sit in any Pacific Coffee or Starbucks there) - and others.
