or we asian can buy up TV, magazine, and movie companies and force them to film ONLY gong li and chow yun fat movies

yea good point. We can buy our way into it! other groups (like those associated with steven spielberg) use money to buy anything.
Pretty soon we will be able to too!

Anyone watch the newest season of scrubs? It's called Scrubs Med School. Anyways, the only asian character on the show is super smart and is banging hottest chick on the show.

When she lovingly says, "Trang, you're SO smart..."

His reply is, "Girl, why you all clingy? I need my personal space."

Funny shit!

I don't even get what the question is. different asians in america have diff experiences...like if you grew up here in the 60s or 80 or 00, its like night & day

True, I was watching a 2 hour Biography on Bruce Lee. Hollywood didn't accept an Asian in major roles in the 60's and 70's. If they did get a role, it was often as servants in submissive rolls, or as evil villians. One of Bruce Lee part ( role ) was playing a lowly butler in "Green Hornet". A butler was no where near his co star's profession of an owner a newspaper on "Green Hornet".

After "Green Hornet", he was considered to get the part in the TV series called "Kung Fu". They gave the part to David Carradine ( Grasshopper ) instead.  David Carradine had no experience in martial arts.  The reason Lee was not cast was in part because of his ethnicity ( Chinese ) and because he had a thick accent. Humm, doesn't Arnold Schwarzenegger have a worst accent.

After not getting major roles in Hollywood, he gave up and went to Asia. He had to prove himself in Asia first. Then Hollywood was more acceptable. His only Hollywood movie was "Enter the Dragon" before he died.

Bruce Lee is one of the first strong role models ( Hero ) Asians look up too.

I agree with what you say about how asians are protrayed by Hollywood. This has been also the same for blacks, native americans, east indians, latinos and many other races. I don't think its an identity crisis for only asians but for all races.
