Remember...  The rate of HIV has been increasing in this world, not decreasing.  Way way more people have it now than they did 5 years ago.  I see more and more people with positive HIV tests.  Would those of you dumb enough not to wear a condom like to join this list?

Rural areas in China have some of the worst health care.  Look at the HIV/AIDS/Hepatitis epidemics in rural China now, particularly in the central provinces.  Not from sex but from blood transfusions.  Even if girl is virgin or from countryside, no longer can you assume she is safe.  On the cover of a British tabloid  newspaper years ago there was a five photos of women, 2 hot and 3 not... asking which ones had STDs/STIs, it was the 3 plain looking ones which you needed to stay away from, the hot girls knew how to protect themselves because they had experience... of course not necessarily true in China, as education is somewhat lacking, but you never know...from experience the girls might learn something that wasn't or couldn't be taught in school. Isn't it true that HIV could have entered your body and yet you may not suffer from any obvious disease for a long time? Wosre still - you can pass it on to another person without you knowing.

Your interpretation of "lack of problem" sounds dangerous. Very much like the teenagers who never expect to run into troubles - "everyone else but me" kind of attutide.

But doesn't it take 3-6 months for HIV to develop after infection?  So even regular monthly testing can still leave a gray area for a while.  My doctor said to get tested and then again after 6 months before stop using condoms, as long as we are faithful... I sure hope she is...   I always play safe, 100%   I assume she doesn't do anyone aside from me, as she is very conservative...

Chicken, that sounds pretty stupid.  You know?  All it takes is one time, just one time and you're "boned" for life.  Your ex gf was a working girl who would take offers of clients not wearing rubber if the price was right.  That's exactly the sort of thing that's contributing to the dramatic increase of STDs.  That, and lack of education about STDs in schools in Asia is what's making AIDs grow so much there.

If the odds are one in a thousand, then sometime in the next ten or twenty years I could get it, doesn't make me feel any safer for not using condom.  Odds are against you more if you use sex provider, particularly high-volume girls that don't need or ask you to wear condoms.

If we held gun to your head and said you have a thousand in one chance of dying, but here is a $1000 if you live, would you take the risk and for how often?  I would say no every time.  Use condom, which isn't 100%, but better than being dead.  No jumping up and down, just using common sense cus I like living.

Buck, if the odds were so low, then can you please tell me why the rate of HIV infections have been soaring since the 80's?  And not only has it not slow down, but it's increasing by many fold in continents like Africa and Asia.  

And yes, the government does lie.  It lies about the number of infected HIV carriers.  Well, at least the Chinese government lies about it.  Why don't you google that?
