...all this talk about Japanese condoms being the thinnest, I believe it because I use TROJAN extra thins and even though it's an American brand they are manufactured in Japan.  I've been using these for a decade and they are the best.  Super sensitive, fits my dick like a perfect glove, and not to sound cliche but they are the closest thing to not wearing anything at all.  I've tried a few of the Japanese brands and they don't fit as well, usually very tight and although they are thin, the sizing issues doesn't help.  TROJANS have the smoothest inner lubricant too, not really too greasy, but velvety so that really helps in transferring the feel of the pussy through the latex. When the condom fits you snug but not tight, that is when you feel the closest to bareback, so this thinness thing is very subjective because if the glove doesn't fit perfectly, it doesn't really matter if it's .02 or .002 because a lot of the times, comfort comes first, then the texture of the inner lubricant and then thinness.  I'd say, test out all brands and see which brand fits you best.  For me, it has never changed in 10 years and plus it is extremely affordable, < $15 USD per 36 pack

Generally before you purchase any model or brand you never had tried before, you can look at the specs (measurements and condom shape) on the packaging and get an idea if the condom will fit you or not.  Otherwise you will are wasting money and if the condoms are too small, it is insulting to a buddy to give him the remaining ones.  Leave the rest for the wgs to use for their other customers.

The couple of times I bought durex in China, they broke on me.  I like Okamotos.  They are a small, but I like it light and thin!
