Scent is..... like flavour - different things has different flavours, different nationalities, because of their diet, smells (Scent) different. You may have the best hygiene, but you are NOT going to get rid of ALL of your germs - and these germs harbours YOUR scent - which in turn reflects your major diet. The Koreans eat a huge amount of garlic-rich kimchi. An English friend of mine had to get rid of his housekeeper because she insisted on making her own kimchee in the kitchen and it stunk up the whole house.
