MY MONGERING MEMORY CARD BROKEN!!!!!

Are there any techies out there that can help me? Basically the memory card I use to film/ take pictures of mongering has a problem. It says card error when I put it in my camera and isnt recognised when I put it into my computer. Its a SD6/8GB. I dont have a back up and it has so many encounters on there really. The reason I know it was broken was because I was finally going to put the pics on here. Any ideas anyone I kept it in my wallet if that makes any difference?! Maybe using my octapus card scrambled it or something?

raptorfan thats true. Most of the pics are of girls from China by themselves but there are a few videos where I set a tripod up lol. That is definitely something to think about!

Dont worry, I  have known these nerdy tech guys for a couple years,  real stand up dudes and completely harmless.  But perhaps after you drop the card off, warn them of the sensitive nature of the photos so that they wont use the computer in their showroom to fix the problem.

Bro Matty, PM sent, good luck and remember to share the photos once the probelm is solved

It's one of my biggest fears for some of my pics and vids to be stolen and leaked out for all to see!

I usually zip them into a compressed file, then encrypt that file and give it a fake name, like 2006WorkBackup. Cos it's encrypted noone can get into it to see the individual file names.

I would avoid using memory cards as permanent storage - they all fault eventually, and once I have had one fault, I would be too nervous to use it again, in case it happened again. I think it is unavoidable. External hard drives or even little USB zip drives are cheap nowadays - you just need a computer to transfer the files across.

If going for the hard drive option, splash out a little more and go for a solid state hard-drive. Yes they are a bit pricey compared to the regular HDs but because there are no moving parts, break down is less likely (other than from physical abuse and dropping it etc). Oh and you will be bale to access the files more quickly

Actually I like the Sandisk Cruzer USB drives for tihs purpose.  They have a password protect function and are relatively cheap (like 250 for a 16G).  Of course, they have encrypted versions for more and then the encrypted solid drives as well.  Other gadgets include hard drive enclosures that uses finger prints as password.  I like what I have for good tradeoff between cost and function.
