not a great story just more of an embarasing memory
on my very first trip in hk i was out looking for a wg who had some great pics, being younger and my first wg attempt i was trying to be subtle about the whole thing and tried not to make it to obvious what i was up too when looking for this wg in mong kok.
i had the 141 info with me was looking back at the pictures i had printed off and trying to match them to the streets i was in -while pretending to be a lost tourist-as i was walking up and down the same streets for ages!
anyway figure out where it is -inbetween pizzahut and a news agent stall thing go in only to see the security man (with hindsight i know this is a common thing for flats) -didnt expect to see him and dident want to really try and explain where i was going so i just pretend i have taken a wrong turn and back out quickly...too quickly
i rushed out and caught my foot on the newsagent stand flying face first in to the street right outside close to a mtr entrance taking most of the stand with me and a couple of locals (who were quite understanding), to the amuzement of what felt like hundreds of other people-pointing laughing, and the ironic thing was the same security guard coming out to see if i was ok- and saying 'no need to be embarrased i know where you want to go its ok its ok' and told me the exact flat number i wanted to get too! but i was way past that point i fled back to my hotel, trying to explain to the wife what had happened to my face on my little shopping trip-and the fear that the news stand people would recognise me and say something when my wife was there still makes me cringe-we passed it nearly every day.
I know if i had done this a few years later when camera phones were popular it would be on youtube.
