Must be nice to be a NYer right now!  Yankees in the playoffs, Giants 5-0 so far...although your Giants look like they're in trouble (17NYG - 34NOR at halftime).

Hi Lenny.. I agree with bro Raptorfan.  How can you say golf is not a sport.. And then there's motor sports. Come on bro.. The activity doesn't  actually have to comprise of lifting things or running around in order to be classified as a sport. Golf and Motor sports takes a hugh amount of concentration and co-ordination which in it's own right is quite an endurance test. OK THEN...Here's a question for the bro's....DEFINE SPORTS....

With that said golf is the hardest sport i ever try.

I got to agree with this. I have tried a fair bit of sport, and i have to say that the requirement of
pure skill and technique, golf is one of the most difficult games to master. I used to think
otherwise...how hard could it be?...i stand humbled after being stuck in the driving
range for eternity (i admit i have no natural interest in the sport but its still really difficult to even get
the basics right!).

Actually, i reckon that you have to be physically fit to master the game completely. Of course, not
to the level of a footballer or rugby player, but there is a physical element to the game. If you're
not fit enough, you get back strains and all manner of muscle pulls etc. The whole body is engaged
in the movement, hence it has to be relatively well-oiled.

Yea, I have to say golf was one of the harder sports that I have tried to play. It take really good hand eye coordination along with really good body control to even make playing worthwhile. I'm still trying to master these things and I'm still stuck on the driving range. Given that I'm not totally into golf like some of my friends are, but it's fun to head to the range and hit some balls. Maybe the fact I'm over 6 feet and have a bad back is hampering my golf game... I have tried to play a full round, but it sucked ass and playing with better players sucked cuz everyone had to wait for you. Maybe it's the challenge that golf presents that makes me want to improve.

Some other hard sports that I haven't had much success in are skiing, snowboarding, and basically any other winter sport or sport with something beneath my foot like skateboarding. I seem to do well in shoes but put something under the shoes and I become a klutz.

Did anyone see the Sunderland - Liverpool EPL game yesterday?  That was one of the more bizarre goals I've ever seen.  I can't believe that the goal was upheld too!

It shouldn't have stood actually. The ref got it wrong. Football rules state that if the ball hits
a foreign object on the field of play, during play, and the trajectory of the ball is altered as
such, the referee should stop play and initiate a drop ball situation.

What makes it worse was that the ball struck a beach ball which effectively deflected it
into the goal. And what makes it even harder to bear, was that it was the only 'goal' of
the game.

I am not a Liverpool fan but this is really tough on them. Maybe they should try to appeal
it to the FA (doubt it would work though - they always side with the referees even if it was
clearly a bad call by the official).

Being a Man Utd fan I took great joy in that goal. True the goal shouldn't have counted, but it felt good that it did. I think Liverpool apepaled to replay the game but I don't think it's going to happen. Worst of all it was their own fan's balloon that did them in, kinda like the air balloon incident a few years ago with Man City?

World Cup 2010 European Play Off

The draw for the European Region Play-Offs for World Cup 2010:

France v Ireland
Portugal v Bosnia-Herzegovina
Greece v Ukraine
Russia v Slovenia

From an English perspective, i can't quite figure out who i want to win the France v Ireland
tie. But i think i rather have the Irish at the World Cup. They have a team, while not
great, that always entertains on the big stage.

Pity about Croatia though. I'm supposed to be happy that they didn't make it (flashback:
qualifying Euro 2008). But from a purely neutral point of view, they have a fantastic
squad with players who possess great individual skill as well as being able to work as a
team.

I reckon Ireland (yes, i do genuinely think they can overcome France), Portugal, Ukraine and Russia.
