Caster Semenya underwent gender testing after he won a women’s race, despite officials already aware that he had testosterone levels three times higher than an average female.

Tests show that controversial runner Caster Semenya more a man than a woman.

The 18-year-old South African Semenya has no womb or ovaries, and his testosterone levels are more than three times higher than those of a normal female, and he has testes that never descended, making him more a man than a woman.

The tests, ordered by The International Association of Athletics Federations after Semenya’s 800-meter victory in the World Championships, determined he’s a hermaphrodite, having both male and female organs.

Semenya could be stripped of the gold medal she won in Berlin last month and her competitive future is in limbo, according to Australia’s Daily Telegraph.

The athletics governing body is also expected to advise him to have surgery to fix the potentially deadly condition, the paper reported. The IAAF would not comment on the results that have yet to be released.

According to a source with knowledge of the IAAF tests, Semenya has internal testes, the male sexual organs that produce testosterone.

Testosterone is a hormone responsible for building muscles and for producing body hair and a deep voice.

Confirmation of the test results is sure to stoke the controversy that erupted after the university student’s sensational track triumph.

Semenya has been embraced in his home country, where he was declared "our girl," and appeared on the cover of YOU magazine (picture above and below) after a feminine makeover, which made him look like a guy in drag. Notice how they had him relax his wrist to appear more femine, as opposed to how he sat like a guy just before his World Champanionship race. Semenya said in the interview with YOU:

    "God made me the way I am and I accept myself. I am who I am and I’m proud of myself."

    "I don’t want to talk about the tests. I’m not even thinking about them."

Semenya is a person who has the testerone, and organs, of a man, giving him an unfair advantage over real women in a race designed for people born 100% women. Semenya might want us to embrace his athletic ability, but we can’t unless he chooses to run races against men who produce the same amount of testosterone as he does. As for officials in South Africa that are happy Semenya represents their country, we believe South Africa should condemn Semenya’s win as unfair, and be ashamed they are bragging about Semenya instead.

YOU can put lipstick on a man like Semenya, but he’s still a man … in drag. Also, we hear Lady Gaga isn’t happy that Semenya is stealing some of her hermaphrodite attention.

From what I've read, Semenya is not a man but a hermaphrodite - she has male and female organs. No final decision yet but I'm sure she'll never be allowed to compete again. But this whole thing, with all the publicity, has been handled very shabbily. I'm sure Semenya always thought she was a girl and has not deliberately done anything wrong. It must be devastating for her.

True, she probably thought she was a girl....

But according to the article, she doesn't have a womb.....
You would think that, not having a period (menstruation) by the age of 18 would have set off some alarm bells?

But then again, developing nations seem to not teach any sex education, or human physiology...
And are ignorant of their own body parts....

Here, the amount of information the girls do NOT know about their own bodies, and the amount of crazy (false) beliefs they have, boggles the mind...   

As I understand it, she is neither a man nor a woman, but owing to a genetic mistake, has characteristics of both. She surely deserves our sympathy for what must be a very traumatic time in her life.

btw, there was a very interesting article in the NY Times today discussing the genetic basis of these kinds of gender problems.
