Rarely. I'm in excess of the magical 56mm limit and buy condoms online. Do I have problems with WGs in Thailand? In general they're able to handle matters and most enjoy it, some quite a bit. I checked my condom box too and it said 56mm girth, i.e. circumference.
Diameter would be used to calculate circumference, Pi x D. i.e. 3.14 x 56 = 175.84 mm
That is why a diameter of 56mm would be very huge in girth

Indeed, the measurement listed on the box refers to the width of the flattened condom. Thus, it is exactly the half of the circumference, and neither the diameter, nor the (full) girth. One should keep in mind, though, that this is half of the circumference before any stretching took place, and we do hope the condom needs to stretch a bit when placed on one's penis, otherwise it would just slide off during intercourse!

So a 56mm condom means unstretched circumference of 112mm. In terms of statistics, 112mm corresponds to 36.82 percentile, so less than average girth. BTW, my source for these statistics is https://calcsd.info/.
According to that website, Western girth average is 118.9mm and Eastern girth average is 112.7mm, which may indeed justify why the width sold in China and HK is mostly 52mm. As far as I remember the more commonly sold size in Thailand is even smaller (49mm!) I tried one of these on my last visit a few years back and felt quite strangled... I always try to bring my own.

Porkchops, that makes sense.  So, 49mm or 52mm are standard Asian sizes.
That is why, although I am average or slight above average, sometimes in Thailand I am told by girls, it is big, which of course flatters, but reality is average I am.
